Get past it people, ANY Dem nominee will beat ANY Repuke...it's 2010
Edited on Fri Jan-25-08 10:30 PM by joeybee12
that's the problem.

By November, the economy will be so bad people will rally around whatever Dem is nominated. Game, set, match.

But the problem is that by the 2010 midterms, things will still be pretty shitty--Bush has fucked things up so badly it will take years to recover. People will start to lose patience, and if the Dem "leadership" in Congress is any indication of what we can expect from now until then, it gives the Repukes enough time to recover. Remember 1994? Dems had control over congress but were such pathetic "leaders" they allowed the repukes to push through a special counsel for Whitewater. The repukes did not have the public's backing at any time for this witch hunt, but the Dems caved anyway, like they always do, and cowered in fear so much they allowed the Repukes to make the bad economy seem like it was the Dem's fault, and not due to the real cause--12 years of voodoo economics.

Somehow, we need to get Dems in Congress who have spines...any suggestions?

2. Yeah, Bill was trailing Evil Bush 1 until it was clear he was the
nominee...once that was decided, he never trailed.

7. But, Reagan/Bush messed up the economy to the point it would take a while...
...to reverse. It was too soon in '94 for Clinton's policies to make a difference, so we lost the House.

4. First, start with the Congressional primaries
Make sure that PROGRESSIVE Dems win. Dems that are willing to fight. To roll up their sleeves and WORK! If you find such a Fighting Dem, post their name and a link to their campaign here at DU. Encourage DUers who live in "safe" or "hopeless" districts to support the Fighting Dem financially. Stand behind courageous Cogressional leaders like Waxler and Kucinich.

And anyone who has the ear of any Democrats in the party structure--remind them to get out the word about what Dems are doing, and tell the people IMMEDIATELY when the pukes obstruct. We also need to work on a network to get out the news and not rely on the MSM.

5. Find out when Pelosi and Reid visit your state and slap bitch them both verbally.
State Jefferson Jackson dinners are likely events that they might attend. Even if they don't attend that is where more of the activists and elected officials will meet. And you can network. Don't forget the state conventions.

6. 1994 was because of Democrats not being in Clinton's line
I fault losing 94 to Democrats who should have been lock in step with Clinton on everything, and instead like idiots made the party look weak by disagreeing. Whoever is president next, if is a Democrat needs democrat complancency like Bush has gotten from Republicans

8. Welcome...yeah, why does it take so long for idiots in
Congress to realize it's in their best interests to support their Prez if he's the same party. These numbnuts have shown more loyalty to Evil Bush II than they ever did to Clinton.

10. I think it's ours to lose. If this pathetic bickering continues, quite a few voters will be
urned off, especially Independents. Look what happened in 04, we should have won by a LANDSLIDE.

11. We Were Even More Sure We Were Going to Win in 2000 and 2004
Every poll shows McCain either beating HRC and BHO or close enough to steal it.
If they win, they most likely get the Senate back too, and maybe the House as well.

We need to focus on THIS year.
