CNN Bans Carville & Begala Till Primary Over
Exclusive: After Obama Complaints, CNN Bans James Carville And Paul Begala From Appearing As Analysts Until Dem Primary Is Settled
January 24, 2008 -- 7:11 PM EST // //

Okay, this is interesting. I've just learned that CNN has told top Dem strategists James Carville, Paul Begala, and Robert Zimmerman -- who are CNN mainstays but are all Hillary supporters -- that they will not be doing any more political analysis on the network until the Democratic primary has reached a conclusion.

I'm also told that this move came after the Obama campaign repeatedly complained to high level officials at CNN about the presence of Carville and Begala on the network.

After I reached him today and pointed out that he hadn't been on CNN in some time, Carville confirmed to me that the network had told him that he wouldn't appear until the Dem primary is resolved.

Sam Feist, CNN's political director, also confirmed the decision to me. "As we got closer to the voting, we made a decision to make sure that all the analysts that are on are non-aligned," Feist said, adding that the decision had been made around the start of December. "Carville and Begala are two of the best analysts around and we look forward to seeing them on CNN plenty of times in the future, once the nominating process has ended."

8. NO-You are flat out wrong
CNN has no blatantly pro-Obama analysts. Zimmerman, Carville and Begala all were blatanlty Pro Clinton. Hence, that's why they are banned and no one else is.

want Obama to run against their republican. He's so inexperienced, they can beat him even with Huckabee.

That is a fine example of how he gets a free pass.............until they have him where they want him...........

Begala and Carville are very, very closely aligned with her. It's disgraceful that the Clinton News Network kept them on as analysts as long as they did.

Edited on Thu Jan-24-08 07:30 PM by chimpymustgo
Others have pointed to a seeming bias in favor of Obama on CNN - actually ALL the networks. I think this is fair. But Carville and Begala should be allowed to comment as "Clinton supporters". The thing about it is, almost everyone has chosen a candidate by now, so I'm not sure you'll find any top pundits who are unbiased.

Hmm...now I'm feeling this is falling into the Whining Obama Drama meme.

21. No one is allowed to criticze Obama--if the Media can control
it.

Yet Rowland Martin was there practically every day this week
throwing daggers at the Clintons. His latest Bill Clinton
was not Americas First Black Presidetn.

Of course CNN permitted Obama surrogates on the air to blast
the Clintons starting the day the returns from NH were received.

Last week before SC was ever mentioned, Schneider, CNN Luntz,Foz
gave poll and focus group results indicating the divide in the
race already. The fault line was there before SC.

I am sure People In SC saw the Media permitting people on the
air making all kinds of accusations against Clintons.

35. Everybody to the left of the neocons
must have found some point in our long political history where the Left and/or Progressive factions have actually benefitted BY WINNING AN ELECTION by destroying any fabric of unity to SECURE THE NOMINATON. We are not the Right...they chew each other up in primary open season, but get in formation lock-step behind their boy in the General. The Left has never done that...our scars don't seem to heal, not quickly anyway.
Regardless of our candidates of choice, we need to engage in dialogues of ideas and plans for the future of our country and the world we will deal with after 2009. To not elevate the discussion, to not address the national problems, to not gather strength to make the changes that we must make...to participate in the politics of old, as effective as they may be TO GET YOUR ASS ELECTED ignores the cold, hard fact that this world is not the world of 500, 200, 100, 10 years ago. While the human race has maybe not evolved too much in a long span, the nature of our choices has. We don't have to "all get along"...but let's try to at least get our train headed in the right direction. Getting rid of the neocon crime syndicate is not the end-all. We need change, and we need it NOW.

the wittle media darling, a product of media hype, is trying desperately to pull out of his tailspin.

Too wittle, too wate Obama. Your desperation is showing. Nice touch though with the GEORGE BUSH imitation of censorship and prior restraint. How abusive of First Amendment rights you are....then again, no one accused you of being a liberal, Mr. Conservative.

This Country does not need a Democratic nominee who is as Rovian as the Repug version.

To add the final indignity, his boisterous band of screaming neophyte politicos on this board see no problem with the glimpse into their nominee's head; they just want to win at all costs, no matter the COST of that victory being free speech. As pointed out, there are already a slew of Obama apologists in place.

What if he got no coverage, like my candidate, Edwards?

Truly pathetic Obama and his Obamatons. I dislike you more each day!!!
