The Reason Obama is really in trouble - Its what i call the Britney vs Christina Effect
Its what i call the Britney/Christina Effect

When you run on a campaign of hope and change, you essentially forgoe the ability to become nasty in a political campaign and thats what has happened. He's run a very risky strategy and he's paying for it now.

For him to get down and dirty he has to dirty the halo and thats when the campaign wheels came flying off.

If you want to win a hard election, you have to eventually get down in the mud. Nice guys do finish last.

Playing the hope and change trumpet can only take you so far, somewhere down the line, you have to hit your opponent hard and nasty and unfortunately for Obama, he's tied his sail to the nicey nicey mast, so when he has to fight tough he looks like the total completely the opposite of what he is portraying his campaign as.

Its what i call the Britney/Christina effect.

Britney made her career being the virginal one, the clean one, the religious one but when she came off that mantra and went trashy and slutty, her career went off the rails quicker than anything in a great explosion whereas Christina, everyone knows she was the slutty trashy one, she never claimed to be anything else, no one cared, so she can play both mantles of nicey nicey and trashy, Britney cannot be the trashy one without exclamations and gasps. Its setting yourself up for a big hard fall.

So really when you look at it, Obama is like Britney Spears and Hillary is like Christina Aguilera and guess which one is still standing right now. I give you a clue it aint Britney.

11. She said Clinton was Christina and
Obama Brittany.

I think it's a good point. Obama ran as the positive, message of hope candidate who was not just another politician. Now he is acting like just another politician and it hurts him a lot more than it hurts Clinton.

4. Nope, he doesn't need to get nasty to respond
He can respond and calmly and consistently point out their distortions. They just took down an ad in SC; that costs a campaign credibility, and they can't take too many chances of that happening.

The internet has changed the rules on the Clintons: information gets around quickly, you can't just go negative in part of SC, for example, and expect no one in any other area of the state or in any other state to hear about it. Remember when Bill bought ads on small-market Christian radio stations boasting of signing the Defense of Marriage Act? He did get caught, but almost by happenstance. Now, he'd be busted as soon as the first ad aired.

13. I'm glad it's here - it's good and people need to see it
I learned a lot from it. Your post and hers are equally long - and hers has real content at the link. But as part of everyone, I can say you are wrong - It didn't annoy everyone.

12. K&R Why he can't win a debate with John Edwards--
:dem: who is the real deal!

Now, if the media would cut the crap, and do some real reporting...
What they find may be truly myth shattering!
