Why isn't the media calling Obama on his wife's RECENT connections with Walmart?
Edited on Tue Jan-22-08 08:53 PM by MyPetRock
He criticized Clinton for working for Walmart 15 years ago, yet HIS WIFE recently worked with the same firm!

Walmart was the MAJOR company Michelle Obama's company, Treehouse Foods Inc. did business with.

:wtf:

This is hypocrisy at its worst and needs to be revealed through the MSM.

3. Did you not read my link?
"But the real reason I oppose him is his wife's deep connections to WAL-MART. Lynn Sweet of the Chicago Sun-Times published an article about this highly controversial connection in May. According to Sweet, Michelle Obama is no longer connected to the company. But this was not a decision Michelle Obama made on her own volition. Following the lead of her husband's vague campaign, Michelle Obama quit the company that ties her deeply to WAL-MART. According to Lynn Sweet,
>
> Michelle Obama resigned Tuesday from the board of TreeHouse Foods Inc., a Wal-Mart vendor, eight days after husband and White House hopeful Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) said he would not shop at the anti-union store.

I guess Obama's attempt to pander to AFL-CIO union voers in Trenton, NJ, created a conflict with one of the Obama family's sources of income."

If THEIR labor polic is bad, that is an issue. If it's not, then there is no problem. Is every company that sells a substantial amount of their product to Wall Mart bad? What of the people who sell to the companies that sell to Wallmart. Not to mention who supplies WallMart with electricity, telephone service ....

HRC was ON WallMart's board.

No matter what he would or wouldn't support...Walmart was not the global giant nor did it have the power to smash competitors.
Whatever the dreams of Walton were...at that point in time...it's potential had not been realized.
I grew up in Arizona and didn't even know what a Walmart was until I moved to Texas in 1978.

On edit: I am NOT defending the business practices of Walmart, just saying that 35 years ago it WAS a different company, either by flaw or by design and it IS possible that a young attorney would not know about it's predatory business practices considering that it was in it's gestational stages.

15. Flat UNTRUE!
Even according to the very one-sided article you linked to, Michelle Obama was on the board of directors of TreeHouse Foods -- a completely separate company.

TreeHouse does indeed do business with Wal-Mart ... but so do electric power companies, telephone companies, trash companies and thousands of vendors and suppliers.

It is not necessary to lie ... did you even read the article you linked to? Did you even Google TreeHouse Foods to check your allegation?

Michelle Obama did NOT work for the same firm (Wal-Mart) until 2005.

Sheesh.

57. Hillary sat on the board of Wal-Mart. She failed to speak out against their union-busting policies.
With all due respect, this is MUCH more damning than selling Wal-Mart pickles. Selling Wal-Mart pickles does not = deep involvement. Sitting on their board of directors, on the other hand, is as deep as you get.

But you go ahead and try to spin it otherwise.

72. Hillary did not "work for Walmart" she was on the friggin board of directors!@
What part of that is difficult for the Hillary Herd to grasp? HUH?

As to Mrs. Obama, she worked for a supplier to WalMart, not exactly the same as being on the Board of Directors of WalMart.

What's even more pathetic is HOW Hillary got the plum job at Walmart. PS...it wasn't available for those without connections....
