What's this crap about Bush's "spiritual advisor" backing Obama?
first of all, I don't know what anybody needs with a "spiritual advisor". I also notice that these so-called "spiritual advisors" never seek out poor people to advise. But that's neither here nor there.

Obama supporters, what gives?..

1. Has Obama acknowledged it? I'm sure there are flakes supporting all of our candidates.
You can't force a person NOT to support you. Sounds to me like the adviser is nothing more than a high profile attention whore.

8. The first link is not Obama's official site, but a local blog. The second says that
Obama's national religious affairs director met with "a couple of dozen interested church leaders".

2. Yeah and it's another stridently anti-gay guy.
And the Obama campaign "embraced Caldwell's change" from the Republican to the "Dem party." Or the Obamacan party, as Obama likes to call it.

I wonder when he's going to "embrace" Ken Hutcherson and the Antioch Bible Church.

4. Why do you expect Obama supporters to comment on this? Why should they have to anymore than anyone
else? ?????

7. When there is no positive spin, the clutch answer is Hillary...........
so don't spend too much time with them, you won't get very far.

10. Nothing to "spin". No need to spin who does or does not support Obama.
This is about who would make the best president, not who supports Obama. Who gives a crap who Bush's spiritual advisor supports? I sure don't.

9. What's there to explain? Obama attracts wide support.
Edited on Tue Jan-22-08 02:11 PM by Occam Bandage
From this guy and Ben Nelson to Ned Lamont and John Kerry, Obama draws support from the entire political spectrum.

18. He respects all people. Take abortion, for example.
Edited on Tue Jan-22-08 02:37 PM by Occam Bandage
He may have the opposite position as this man. However, he doesn't take that position militantly, nor does he take the position that there's nothing untoward about the prospect of killing a fetus. Rather, he takes the position that because abortion is such an important--and troublesome--moral issue, the government ought not intervene in the complex moral decision-making required by all those who are considering the procedure. He focuses his message on the parts that everyone can agree on (say, the necessity for all Americans to come to grips with moral issues), while remaining true to his ideals.

While a pro-lifer might remain unconvinced, they can at least see where Obama is coming from, and they feel that they can understand where Obama is coming from.
