KOlbermann:" Obama has Democrats & some Republicans' heads spinning"
On Obama's citing Reagan as an agent of change:

"Obama just had an endorsement of the culinary union in Nevada and Reagan was known for busting the air-controllers union, is that going to affect the votes of that union?"

2. No, Obama just has this political death wish
Edited on Thu Jan-17-08 08:20 PM by Gman
He should have been put on political suicide watch a long time ago. He's done a very good job of committing political suicide at every opportunity. I'm really surprised he's come this far.

I can't imagine any good reason to bring up Reagan in such a union intensive state.

9. Obama's praise for Reagan's ideas is way over the top.
It makes me wonder if he is a Democrat at all.

12. Did you read what he said?
He said that Reagan changed things in the political world. He doesn't agree with them.

13. your IQ has to be above 75 to understand what Obama said
Edited on Thu Jan-17-08 09:30 PM by JackORoses
He wasn't even talking about Reagan, the Man

He was talking about the Times Reagan was elected in, the Mood of the Country

the rare Window of Opportunity which can be acted in to create great Change

Reagan used it to move the country to the right and we are still experiencing the effects of that shift.

Obama can use it to move the Country back to its People.

3. Actually, more than that was said......
And Obama specifically said that he didn't agree with Reagan's policies.

But go ahead and spin it for all it's worth.

You are making Bill and Hill very happy for themselves.

17. He does agree with some of what Reagan did.
From his book.

Pages 156-157

"The conservative revolution Reagan helped usher in gained traction because Reagan's central insight--that the liberal welfare state had grown complacent and overly bureaucratic, with Democratic policy makers more obsessed with slicing the economic pie than with growing he pie--contained a good deal of truth."

He thinks 60's and 70's Democratic liberals were wrong and Reagan "corrected" some of their errors. The question for us is what "corrections" Reagan made does Obama approve of?

8. Doesn't mean he's always right, and he isn't
He shilled for Hillary for a long time. He started backing off when that Shaheen stuff emerged, and then really backed off after the NV law suit. Now that the word has come down from Emily's List, well who knows what is going on at MSNBC.

15. Oh, what a bunch of bull.
Keith shills for NO ONE. He just said so on the Daily Kos because he's sick of everyone thinking he's AGAINST their candidate. I can't blame him. People are now seeing in him everything they don't want to see, just to have an excuse to be angry at him. This election season has made them crazy.

20. Keith's RATHER LARGE PAYCHECK is signed by CORPORATE MEDIA.
Don't tell ME hoe "pure of heart" he is!
It doesn't hurt his IVY LEAGUE backside if Republicans get into office again and further desimate the working class! In fact he get to pretend he's Edward R. Murrow somemore if they do!

22. Oh maybe it was his personal preference
Maybe he was just legitimately supporting Hillary a few months ago. But he definitely reported everything from the perspective of her campaign. It started shifting when her campaign started getting dirty. I really don't know what he's doing now because I haven't watched in a while. But he does not always get the story right.

You are as bad as the rest of them.

I think I'll turn on SOAPNET instead. If I'm gonna watch DRIVEL...

24. Disappointed that KO allowed O'Donnell to comment wrt Edwards
and Obama in light of O'Donnell's hit piece of Edwards at Huffinton Post, insinuating he would be remembered as a racist.

If O'Donnell had made similar attacks previously against any of our other candidates, even Obama, I would also call foul.
