Edwards should CHALLENGE Tim Russert in the Debate tonight.
John Edwards should look right at Russert and say:

"Tim, before I answer that question, I HAVE A QUESTION FOR YOU, AND THE REST OF THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA - Why won't you cover my campaign? Despite the fact that I am being outspent 3 or 4 to one, the latest polls here in Nevada show that this is a 3-way STATISTICAL DEAD HEAT. Clearly, my message is resonating with the people who hear it. And yet you, and the rest of the MSM insist on reporting this as a 2-way race between Senator Obama and Senator Clinton. I want to know WHY, and my many, many supporters want to know why, too! Americans are tired of you folks in the Mainstream Media choosing their candidates for them!

I think that would be a GREAT, BALLSY, move on JE's part!

1. I think he should mention the lack of coverage, but not single out Russert...
He could limit the amount of time he's given in the debate if he pisses Russert off.

3. Should he start stomping his feet if he doesn't like the response?
Win something and prove that there is a realistic path to the nomination and maybe he will be taken seriously.

6. If she wasn't standing on a huge pile of Corporate campaign contributions . . .
HRC would have dropped out of this race at the same time Biden and Dodd did.

4. David Bonior is on MSNBC right now...
He thanked them for having him on and talked about the uneven coverage. Good!

8. It would RESONATE with PEOPLE . . .
the MSM would HAVE TO cover it.

The MSM is part of the problem. It needs to be CONFRONTED with the REST of Corporate America.

10. The bad things they would say about Edwards were he to attack the M$M
would resonate with the people too. People still plug in to the M$M every day and listen to their crap. If he attacks, they will probably hear worse about him than they already do.

7. Yep, and mention the other candidates who were and are ignored as well.
The point being, as you said, to tell them "Americans are tired of you folks in the media choosing candidates for them!"

9. Could be dangerous waters for his badly covered campaign.
I'm sure the Edwards team, fully aware of the lack of coverage, weighs all the pros and cons about confronting the issue.

11. I got in a small jab at MSNBC on their "ask a debate question" invitation
MSNBC has invited viewers to submit questions for tonight's debate. This is what I asked:

There are THREE Dem candidates vying for the nomination yet the media only concentrates its attention on Obama and Clinton outside of these debates. Why is the media so intimidated by the Edwards Populist platform to significantly limit his coverage? What would you do as President to ensure the public was fully informed about the choices they face as a nation?

That's both Bonior and Trippi in a couple of hours ~ maybe they're getting the message!
