OK, I think this is worth doing a post on .
I just heard an "All Things Considered" report on Senator Clinton MLK speech today in front of union members and unlike the thread here about it by ABC reporters, the NPR reporter who was there said she got a warm reception with about half of the audience giving her a standing ovation.

Why post about this? Because it shows that we are being spun. I don't know for sure who's doing the spinning, but I think it's good to remember that reporters can and do, tell very different stories about the same event.

7. I'm convinced the media are encouraging a narrative
that boosts viewership and profit,no matter how destructive. I hope this crap ends soon and we Dems send a positive message to the American public that the republicans are morally and philosophically bankrupt and have caused this country great harm. That is the Democratic message,it's time to take back this country, whether we take it back with Obama,Clinton or Edwards. Please people,we are being set up for a fall, don't let it happen, there is too much at stake.

17. Not gonna happen.
Mudslinging sells news/media. Always has, always will. This is the first race in which we've had a both a non-white candidate and a non-male candidate as front runners. So the mud LOOKS a little different this year... but it's the same ole' mud.

Obama, Clinton, etc. cannot do anything about it.

However, if someone wanted to spend a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT of money, they could run "Look Behind the Curtain" ads, and try to get people to stick with the issues, and not pay attention every time the media runs a scorching headline.

We're talking a WHOLE LOT of money.

8. Pretty much everything you get from MSM is bullshit
I really don't know why anyone pays attention to them anymore.

I gave up on MSM when it became obvious they were not reporting Bush crimes years ago. Of course, if you are concerned with what the latest pop tart is doin, you will get more info than you need.

12. Perception, perspectives, agendas...
Two people can witness the same thing and have completely different takes, even without an existing agenda. There are so many reasons to question everything we read. Thank goodness so many things are being posted on youtube - unless we see things with our own eyes and hear them with our own ears, we can't rely on MSM. People simply need to take the time to do so.

Thanks for the reminder, Cali.

19. K & R. Thanks, Cali.
I wish more DUers would post if they notice spin by the "regular" media, even if that means they would have to say something nice about a candidate they don't particularly like.

:hi:
