THE LAST STRAW! Why I won't vote for Hillary in the General Election
Edited on Mon Jan-14-08 08:32 AM by Infinite Hope
I had just gotten through watching Huckabee on CNN and at that very moment, he erased my *remote* consideration of him if our nominee were Clinton (Yes, he's the one Rep. I had considered voting for IF the one Democrat I'd vote against, Hillary, were our nominee). Well, anyway, that won't happen. Then a story of MORE racial remarks and lies from Hillary followed. She claimed Obama brought race into the race despite his campaign's lack of comment on the matter and despite it being her own campaign that began the issue. The race issue was being fought between Hillaryland and the media. Her comments and lies make it clear she'd throw anyone under the bus for her own personal gain. I won't stand for that. We will have had 8 years of that by the time the next president takes office. The link below by another poster puts well some of the reasons I will not vote for Hillary and will vote 3rd party (something I've historically criticized) against Hillary if she's the nominee.

An additional reason is the growing sense that she'd be weaker than Obama or even her husband among blacks because of recent comments. Further, she's weaker among independents not to mention not being a uniting force even among Democrats. I think she's really hurt her ability to compete in the general election and has now rendered herself unelectable.

18. Yep, the Clintons are such bigots, aren't they? So bigoted that....
...Bill C has been called 'the first black president' by blacks themselves.

Again, take the comments in the context in which they were said.

Everything becomes inflammatory because it makes good copy and gets readers/viewers.

45. Here you go,
Feb 20, 2002 | "In her now-famous defense of a scandal-plagued Bill Clinton, Nobel prizewinner Toni Morrison, went so far as to call him "our first black president. Blacker than any actual black person who could ever be elected in our children's lifetime." "Clinton," Morrison wrote in the 1998 New Yorker essay, "displays almost every trope of blackness: single-parent household, born poor, working-class, saxophone-playing, McDonald's-and-junk-food-loving boy from Arkansas."

http://dir.salon.com/story/books/int/2002/02/20/clinton/index.html

You might want to hold off on claiming "racist" until you get the facts.

43. She didn't "bring race into the race," and neither did Obama.
It's the media, the supporters, the blogs, etc. that have brought race into the race.

Obama referenced MLK; Clinton countered, referencing MLK; and OTHERS went nuts about it. Obama says he didn't say anything about it, although it seems some in his campaign did send a memo around.

A supporter of Clinton used the phrase "shuck and jive" while not even discussing Obama, and OTHERS went nuts about it. I'm not sure whether the Obama campaign said anything.

Was there another incident? I'm losing track!

48. The difference between Hillary and Obama is the difference between vanilla and French vanilla --
you have to have a pretty good pallet to detect any difference at all and, if you can identify any difference, it isn't big enough to get excited over.

Vote for Kucinich or Edwards -- at least they are offering a platform we should all get behind.

She's proved that the divisive imgage she was trying to overcome was the real one all along.

There's no way in hell that Obama and Edwards delegates will vote for her in Denver.

The public is right: she is too divisive to be the President of all Americans.
