Post your video and let the results dictate how popular it is. Don't continually spam post the damn thing.

11. I love Jesus! That qualifies me as a Fundamentalist, doesn't it???
Really, I do. I don't go to church anymore, but I know that I know Jesus.

I think some things have been seriously confused by churches that are more businesses than anything else, but the Way and the Truth are still True. Things have been going on in my life that have TESTED what I believe PLENTY (my older sister Therese was diagnosed with mesothelioma and died within a month - amongst other things . . . ) but I can still feel how true the Truth is. I still know The Bible is right, just not in the more or less blasphemous ways that people say it is.

Solidarity!

18. Bible
Do you believe the Bilbe word of word? Do you believe in Revelation? Kind of a scary book, huh? Do you believe that God heals? If so, why doesn't he ever heal people missing limbs and why doesn't he help starving children and not someone who just has a pain we can't see.

27. Imposing our definitions of who God is and what God does on God is blasphemy.
I believe that no word in the Bible occurs without all of the other words in the Bible and that in totality these words are True and Real - and that Truth is not limited to the truths that blasphemous human minds try to project upon it. In short, any statements about the Bible should be limited to the Bible's words (preferably in their original languages, or as close an approximation thereof, within the cultural contexts by which those words became The Bible) without ANY of our extrapolations and explications and interpretations, because all such attempts to say what the Bible means are Blasphemy, i.e. a violation of the 1st commandment of the OT: I am the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not have strange gods before me (And that includes all so-called holy men speaking for God.)

28. Its only blasphemy if you believe in blasphemy.
It is a question. The OT is not relevent to the New Testament, other than to offer a historical perspective on Jesus' life and beliefs. The OT is what Jesus rejected.

The Bible is a compilation of selected books from many sources and has no universally agreed to form. Books in the Bible have been left out or included, edited and rewritten for political, social and perhaps spiritual reasons.

29. please let me Kibitz on this conversation,.. Christianity is based on the Church Paul built, Paul
never met Jesus.. Jesus once said the Disciples didn't really understand what his message was.. so i really doubt Paul did, although he had an Epiphany on a mission to persecute Christians, i doubt he really understood the message, having never heard it.. he remained a type A control freak.

your mention of 'Revelation'... all serious bible scholars know that there is too much debate to really make an 'intelligent' decision
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Book_of_Revelation and since it was written in flawless Greek.. very questionable.. one explanation i read in a book by many noted Jewish scholars that was the finest bound book i have ever seen, it was about 24"x34"x6". it had the Bible on the left and the Jewish explanation of the bible, LINE BY LINE... archaeologically, historically, sociologically, politically.. it explained Revelation as the works of a recognized Jewish author that wrote railing manifestos against the Romans ..in code. to keep from being crucified.. thus the symbolism.

my personal experience is being being tortured and tormented by the book of revelation in an extremist splinter group of the Free Hollyness Pentecostal Church.. we were forced to study revelation in Sunday school from the age of 5, Revelation, then Romans, then Acts, then repeat the 3.

i was a devout atheist at age 5... when i was 20 i ran into Buddhism, i then understood what Jesus was saying..

Jesus grew up right on the crossroads of the Old Silk Road. Buddhism had been around for about 500 years at the time. i can only wonder how someone could create a philosophy of total compassion, universal love and tolerance in a culture that stoned to death friends and family for offenses as serious as drawing water on the Sabbath... among many many others. if you look at the teachings of the Buddha.. it becomes apparent Jesus teachings are Buddhism with a couple pages missing.

i was attracted to Buddhism because it involves no faith. it is based on personal experience and personal responsibility.. Buddhism is based on a logical posit.

i went on a 7 year pilgrimage for the truth.. i studied and practiced other religions and philosophy's.. i was a research scientist at the time. what i found was that there is a phenomenon that is common to all religions and cults.. and they all claim ownership to it. Buddhism's teachings say that that phenomenon is not the all of all's.. it can be a serious distraction to the most important goal of life

don't generate a high response rate or link clickthrough.

Too freeperish.

What counts is how many times you post the same thing over and over. The same thing being only a link to that video. At least put in some different words.

24. Bush is holding Democratic Fundraisers as political prisoners
So, I didn't know where else to post this, and it won't let me start a new thread. But, I was hoping that the DU folks could help shed some light on this.

Let's start off with some basic honesty. I am a capital-L Libertarian, so, pretty much everything y'all stand for is what I stand against. All cards on the table.

THAT SAID: I am reaching out to the DU establishment, because in this instance, the Bush administration has gone too far. They have locked up an innocent Mississippi judge (whose wife happens to have MS), for the crime of, apparently, running as a Democrat, and being a friend of a supporter of Democrats.

I include some links to people who can write it up better than I:

http://harpers.org/archive/2007/12/hbc-90001998
http://gulfcoastrealist.blogspot.com/ (This is the blog of the judge himself.)
http://legalschnauzer.blogspot.com/2007/12/our-political-prisoner-population-grows.html

Yes, I know that if this becomes more public, it will hurt the chances of keeping a Donk out of the White House for the next four years. As terrifying as the thought of Dem-led anything is to me, I am so much more chagrined that the governement would do this to someone that I'm willing to see the republicans lose over it.

So, please, let people know about this travesty.

26. Comments
I really don't consider myself a Democrat or Republican. I've voted both ways. I think the Republicans, at the moment are crooks and the Democrats have been wimps. If we can consider a woman or a black President, then we should also consider an Independent.
