There is something going on; I can feel it in the air!
Edited on Wed Jan-09-08 11:47 PM by FrenchieCat
I walked into 7-eleven and bodly but softly chanted..."obama, obama, obama" with three guys in line in front of me.

They all looked back at me, and smiled. One gave me the high five.

Newsweek cover at the stands soon:

1. Can I gloat for an itty bitty bit?
I love this cover and this article mainly because it's about Obama.

However, I just have to mention, that I'm mentioned in this article!!!

I was an Obama precinct captain and Obama called me and the story is
discussed a bit.

I'm kinda freaking out!

Sorry, if that's self serving, but not many people know in my real life and
I feel like I have to tell someone!

:)

2. Thumbs-up 4U, TS, that's awesome
So much of what volunteers like yourself do passes by without much notice. I'm still undecided, but I admire someone like yourself with so much passion.

Still got a while to go before my primary and busy like bees these days, but trying my best to keep a watch on these things.

12. OMG, I'm going to go buy it now!!
I had a couple like incidents in 2003, it's so exciting I know how you feel!!! Never got a call from a candidate, I would have fainted straight away. But a couple magazine thingies, it's pretty cool. I finally got Teresa to sign one of them a few months ago. Congratulations!

13. That's so cool....
So you were quoted about the Kerry campaign?

Nice that you got Teresa's autograph as well!

I think Obama made phone calls to many people.

It was very surreal, that's for sure--but a good conversation!

He's amazing...truly amazing.

22. I got a letter published in People
They had written a bit of a hit piece and I wrote a snappy little thing about her tooling around New Hampshire shops and barns in her chanel pumps. It got published in PEOPLE. My son called me, one of his friends saw it because I don't even read People. I was stunned. One of the most exciting things that has ever happened to me. Another time, I made a snarky comment on the Kerry blog, about a different candidate, and someone from the press contacted me to ask permission to use it. It wasn't so bad, but I think I won't repeat it, lol. Getting to speak right to a candidate though, and ending up in Newsweek?? WAY COOL.

27. So, you have to share with us...
What person was your letter in "People" about? It sounds like Condi! :)

Also, I want to hear your snarky comment on the Kerry blog. I love snark! I'm sure if
it was printed, it was an awesome snark!

We must hear the snark!

Please.

30. No, it was positive, about Teresa
It was in response to People writing a snippy article about Teresa's money.

The snark was just a passing comment about blinking eyes, nothing too terrible, like I said. I'd just as soon not dredge up old wounds though.

26. I write letters.....
You see how beligerent I can be in writing, right? Well, on the phone, I am twice as bad...but always reasonably polite. I get my way sometimes, but I'm not patient enough.

Now, my hubby, on the phone he puts me to shame! He can get on the phone and get just about any problem resolved there ever was...but by the time that is done, he will have spoken to 4 people. He enjoys the challenge of putting folks in their place, before they realize what actually happened. LOL!

24. I know what you mean, Frenchie...
...there is something in the air.

I switched fitness centers today and as I was filling out the paperwork, I said to
the trainer guy, "So did you caucus last week?"

He said he did and then he said kinda meekly, "You a Hillary supporter?"

I said, "Heeeeeeeeeeelllllll NO! I'm for Obama!"

He got the biggest smile on his face and we high fived. We were both over the moon and
we had quite a moment.

He told me that he is in the military and that he's a Republican!

So typical...Obama attracts people of all stripes. It's how we'll take back the White House, I tell ya.

There IS something in the air.

7. I gave away a couple Obama buttons to some people who asked while going to work
I take the bus when possible and have an Obama button on my laptop bag. A couple people at different times asked where I got a button. I have about a dozen that I'll give away.

I liked your story.
