3. good question - been wondering the same
I can't imagine it coming from Biden after reaction to her vote on Iran. As far as I know still no endorsement from him, and I expect he won't endorse.

He'll have to work with Obama and Clinton in the future - one or both in the senate, maybe one in White House.

My gut says he'd prefer Obama. I think they're most similar in style.

I doubt Biden would take VP or Sec of State for either of them. Actually, I'm quite certain he wouldn't for HRC (Bill factor). Maybe for Obama.

I think the Nevada one was his campaign director for that state - think that one was on Clinton's campaign website? It showed up on my Google alert for Biden which I haven't turned off, but I think I deleted today's already.

edit - was still in my browser history

Former Biden State Director Ronni Council Joins Clinton Team

The Clinton campaign announced today the addition of veteran Nevada political strategist Ronni Council to its state political department. Council formerly served as the Nevada State Director for the Biden campaign and now joins the Clinton campaign as a Senior Advisor.

"With Senator Biden out of the race, I had to quickly re-think my choice for president," said Council. "After much consideration of the candidates' electability, experience, and the excitement surrounding their campaigns, I went back to the words of Joe Biden himself: ‘When you caucus, you should close your eyes and imagine the person you're supporting is president at this very moment. Do you believe that person? Do you have confidence that person can handle any of these crises that you know exist?' It became clear to me very quickly Hillary Clinton was the only person I could imagine, right now, as my president."

A native of Las Vegas, Council's political involvement began a decade ago with the Nevada State Democratic Party. Since then, she has worked as a consultant and senior staffer for numerous local and statewide campaigns. Recently, she was the Director of Campaign Operations in Henderson Mayor Jim Gibson's bid for governor and worked on field operations for Clark County Commissioner Rory Reid's campaign. Her varied experience has given Council an extensive understanding of the key Nevada issues and constituencies.

"Ronni is a proven campaigner and a great asset to have on board, with deep connections to the community and Democratic activist networks," said Clinton Nevada Chair Rory Reid. "On a personal note, I'm also excited to have the opportunity to work with Ronni again and have her on our team. We look forward to harnessing her energy and knowledge as we mobilize voters across the state to caucus for Hillary."

other one I read escapes me at the moment.

17. geography lesson needed
I've corrected people here and on other blogs about Biden being a New England senator (I think they meant Northeast, but I'd agree on Mid-atlantic). And people saying Clinton was from a neighboring state to NH. And NY is part of New England.

(for the record New England = Maine + the 5 little states up there)

28. oh, I mean square miles not status!! I was picturing a map!!
I have family in Boston and love New England.

I was thinking of someone from the west coast saying, oh, those 5 squinty little states up there?

I wonder how much we all know about each others' regions. When I lived in the midwest, I had a friend from the east coast who had never been through a toll booth. I couldn't really describe it very well. I on the other hand had no idea what to do on the signal onramps on the highway. There are still a few regional things left in this country!

It's a definite regional distinction
I'm originally from New York, but I lived in New Jersey for several years. North Jersey is one thing, but once you cross the Raritan River and move south, you know you're in Mid-Atlantic country. It's a different world.

14. do endorsements matter much?
Last I checked, Biden ended up with more local political and newspaper endorsements than Edwards and Richardson in Iowa. Outside NH and Iowa, do the smaller papers get enough personal attention to really endorse?

Des Moines Register endorsement text sounded like answer was Biden even though they endorsed HRC :eyes:

18. Biden supporters(endorsers too) tend to older, thoughtful who know the goal is to STOP the Repugs...
makes perfect sense for them to go Clintons direction. Edwards is just wallowing, and seems unable to adjust his campaign to include other issues that are just as important to the general population. Obama is just plain too inexperienced, and to more experienced politicians is at this point just another MTV celebrity du jour. Obama will have to expand his appeal to the older voters(which do the voting) before he can expect endorsements from experienced politicans.

Yes, yes, all you privates and corporals in Obamas' Kiddy Army, save your ammo, you aren't going to change anyones mind with mindless vitriol. Put all that energy to work to help your candidate not alienate potential supporters and voters.

This is how bandwagons are made. Diverse as democracies are, we need the occasional bandwagon to reaffirm our cultural unity. It's a good thing.

That said, Go Obama!

31. I dunno. I feel Biden had the best of both their qualities. Hillary did vote for Biden's Iraq plan.
Obama sat out that one. However, Hillary also voted for Kyl-Lieberman, which Biden did not. I assume most of the people going to Hillary are the "experience" voters, who have had to downgrade since Biden and Dodd are out. However, Biden is also more of a "straight-talker" and "inspiring" like Obama, so... I don't know.
