This was a victory based on the old party machine, the core partisan Democrats, and the Clinton loyalists."

So the emotional outbursts - both on the debate and the thing at the diner, had nothing to do with it.

3. If we can trust respondents to the exit polls. I don't.

I think people don't want to claim to be "independent thinking" and fashionable at the same time. If they were swayed by something the last day...but may have been considering Clinton last month (like everyone was), I think most will say they made up their minds last month instead of last night.
