The other side of the coin...who is the NIXON of our generation?
Whoever the JFK turns out to be, I sure hope they spank the living shit out of whoever the Tricky Dick of the other side turns out to be.

1. Well, if you go on their platforms
I'd have to say most of the Democratic presidential contenders are.

If you go on their actions, I'd have to say GWB.

3. And yet Cheney has managed stay involved
in three administrations. I think he is worse than smart. He is clever and cunning.

4. Nixon, Cheney, Rumsfeld, et al all came out of the brow of Zeus at one time
They're like the Boys from Brazil.

I think any of the current crop of neocon Sock Monkeys have it in them to be Nixonian.

6. Old Dick was one of a kind. I always remember the posters in the
late sixties with a picture of the little weasel and the caption,"Would you buy a used car from this man?"

9. If the debates hadn't been televised, he probably would have won.
They seemed to influence a lot of voters.

8. Nixon was the young Neo-CONS benefactor...he didn't
support them, they were all snot-nosed neophytes, but he gave them a job, and access to the system. Nixon, as despicble as they were would fight Cheney & Co tooth and nail today. he was a mis-guided red-baiter, but a true believer in the ultimate authority of the Constitution...the proof of that was he handed over those tapes when the USSupCt ruling came against hiom, he did not burn them, he did not misplace them. That was his single shining moment in a long career. Such an act by todays Repugnant Neo-CONS would not even cross their minds.
