"So Democratic audiences are often surprised when I tell them I don't consider George Bush...
a bad man, and that I assume he and members of his Administration are trying to do what they think is best for the country."

3. And?
Do you think we're going to win the election on the strength of voters who think Bush is the Anti-Christ? Do you really think that the Queen Bee, whose husband is so chummy with Der Chimp's daddy, thinks Bush is a "bad man"?

7. she wants to begin her presidency by undoing lots of stuff the bushit boy has done
that is gonna sock a one-two-three punch right in poppy's and poppy's son's hearts like you won't believe... that is why the poppy has promised to give hillary hell if she wins the nomination to run for the presidency...and maybe that is why many republicons have turned their coats and are voting for bush light: obama.

20. You're right on one point:
"that is gonna sock a one-two-three punch right in poppy's and poppy's son's hearts like you won't believe..."

You're right. I don't believe you. I don't think Hillary will do any such thing. If she's elected, and if I'm wrong, I will be very happy. But I don't think she will, and I don't think I am.

But like I said in another thread, there is no "truth" in politics; only what you think you know at the time.

18. So, it's GOOD if Obama likes Bush but it's BAD if Hillary ......
doesn't scream like a banshee because her husband treats Georgie's dad with (unearned) decency and respect?

No hypocrisy here.

10. Didn't Eileen Wuoronos (sp?) also think she was doing what's best?
That's hardly a good argument when the actions being discussed are simply beyond the pale.

16. No
He is doing what is best for "corporate" America, the "have more" group that he calls his base! Big oil companies who want the oil in the middle east, those who want to outsource jobs to cheap labor, employers who hire illegals so they can lower wages and pay no benefits, drug companies and inusranc companies, etc.

He doesn't care about he rest of this country! Obama would do better not to say anything than to kiss up to republicans, for their vote, by saying such a thing!

11. Once again you cherry picked a sentence from his book.
At least he got your $25.00.

Actually, $14.99, I'll bet you waited for paperback.

One sentence in the middle of a passage where Obama states his many disagreements with the policies of the Bush administration.

From the next paragraph:
It is to say that after all the trappings of office - the titles, the staff, the security details - are stripped away, I find the President and those who surround him to be pretty much like everybody else, possessed of the same mix of virtues and vices, insecurities and long-buried injuries, as the rest of us. No matter how wrongheaded I might consider their policies to be - and no matter how much I might insist that they be held accountable for the results of such policies - I still find it possible, in talking to these men and women, to understand their motives, and to recognize in them values I share.

21. You must be lonely if you block out everyone you aren't 100% in agreeance with
There are still places of commonality people can agree on. It's why many of us have friends in the other party. It's why my brother supports Hillary and his wife likes Romney. Strip away the policy and political fights, there is more that unites us than divides us.

For instance. Me and George Bush, we both like the sauce.
Me and Hillary, same civics teacher.
Me and Obama, both admirers of Paul Simon.

14. Obama is being way
too kind but I sense that he's a diplomatic kinda guy. :)

At least Obama isn't all cozying up to them like the clintons.. I read something on DU when Obama was first got into the Senate or before(?)..Obama was at the white house and bush read his name and said he'd never heard of him and either Obama or someone else said, "you will".

26. Indiana hasn't paid for the book
He's pulling these quotations from other web sites, as evidenced by his dishonest use of ellipses last night in this thread:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x2597509

Needless to say, wherever the quote appears online, the dishonest ellipses appear as well, so it would be an outright miracle if Indiana managed to select the same passage to delete with ellipses as every other anti-Obama blogger.

27. One of his quotes last night had no google hits.
The one you linked to was on some black rage site that called Obama an Uncle Tom. Good source. But the other one he did, something about Reagan that I already forgot about, I googled and couldn't get a hit.

I'm wondering where he gets this crap.

1. President Shit-for-Brains IS a "bad" man.
2. Obama, as possible future Prez, should not assume.
3. The Maladministration is trying to do what's best for themselves and their wealthy cronies, to hell with the country. Just like throughout history.

30% of this country supports Dim Son; a resounding 70% does not. Obama doesn't need to accuse Dim Son of being Satan, but why so conciliatory? Way to fire up the base...

Edited on Sat Jan-05-08 07:54 PM by alcibiades_mystery
Just so everybody can see how the OP operates, here's a completely out of context quotation he posted last night. His notable absence from the thread after he was called on it is clear for all to see:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x2597509

You have to stand by your actions, bud.
