The Obama supporters owe Edwards a thank you
Edwards did the dirty work in the Philly debate. He set her up and Barack knocked her down.

3. Affirmative action, hey?
Don't think so. Edwards was trying to help himself.......which is what he was supposed to do. But he gets no credit, and in fact gets demerits for not congratulating OBama graciously on Obama's win.

11. That was unbelievable how he just gave his stump speech about mills and didn't congratulate Obama.
He's way too angry.

13. Oh kiss my ass with that right wing meme
I can not believe some of the anti-lawyer bullshit I see on this site. Some of you are as bad as the republicans when discussing trial lawyers.

And psst- Obama is a trial lawyer too. Just thought you'd like to know that. (course that's actually one of the things I like about him)

21. While I disagree with what you've said, that assessment is so much better
than actively using "trial lawyer" as a freaking insult.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, and I'm not trying to change anyone's mind about anything other than my profession. Use real insults if that is your intent, not right wing created insults to slander a profession which typically fights corporations and is solidly 90% Dem.

24. He came across as a pretty boy
Wuss with a 400 haircut only concerned about himself. The media created his image, he reinforced it tonight. Very poor showing on his part especially in contrast to the Hillary speech. I always judge a person on how they react in bad times, tonight Edwards failed.

33. never want to piss off a member of a profession I may need
In all seriousness, I don't have enough experience with trial lawyers to form an opinion. I deal with lawyers multiple times per year but never trial lawyers. It always amazes me about the boogie man trial lawyers. Come on you have Perry Mason. DA DA DA DA! The only reason I can comprehend is that they are represented as "boogie men" who will take away what you have. But I have never met a person who had something taken away and I do know people who profited from trail lawyers.

25. Fair enough
and I will add that Edwards has been good for the party in this race, forcing candidates to address the issue of economic hardship and unfairness when they may have been prone to wander off into different (and less contentious) territory.

Otherwise I am in a really great mood because Obama and Edwards both had really great showings. I am one of the maybe 5 undecideds left on this board, but they along with Biden have been my favorites. It's looking like Biden might be gone soon, but as long as Edwards or Obama get the nom over a certain Senator from NY, I'm happy. Congrats to your guy- it was a great win. :)

and on edit- Sorry to have been so snippy initially. Edwards' run has brought out all the "ambulance chaser" insults again, and I'd hoped we had put those to bed after 04.

He did those things to gain traction for himself, and it worked given his wonderfully strong showing tonight. Glad for Edwards AND Obama!

17. That's a fair point.
Edwards attacking Hillary back in September hurt him in the polls and it benefited Obama.

But John quickly stopped the attacks and when he went to the populist message he soared again.

JE beat Hillary and that is also news.

But Barack won on his own and he deserves a lot of respect for what he achieved.
