I've got news for you: most hard care racists wouldn't vote Dem in the first place, and the numbers of people who won't vote for a candidate because of race is not significant enough to swing things. However , there's a certain segment of the status quo that will repeat this ad infinitum , like the rest of the "common wisdom" we get around here

...I support Obama 100%. I will be proud of this country if we can elect him, but there is no question his race is a liability...racism is real. If we can elect him, it would go a long way toward easing some of the most important pressure points in our society however.
