Wolf Blitzer's Interview With Bhutto May Suggest How The Repugs Will Beat Hillary.......
In his interview with Bhutto - Wolf talks with her about her being a woman leader in an islamic country and that the extremists are totally against this. This is what put her in danger.

Now could the Repugs use this in the '08 election should HRC win the Dem nomination - the fact that a woman (Hillary) as president of the U.S. would/could put the U.S. in danger because those same extremists wouldn't/couldn't tolerate that?

The Repugs would then say that electing Hillary would put the U.S. at risk of more terrorists acts like 911 (I can hear Rudy now).

This came to me when I heard CNN play excerpts of his interview with Bhutto. I don't have the transcript of that interview - but when I heard it on CNN this a.m. it resonated with me.

It's not a factor now - but in the general election run-up I can see the Repugs resort to this type of message.

1. Bhutto was a strong and powerful fighting female.
She twice led the country of Pakistan and came back from exil to fight some more. If anything, it will help Clinton.

Bhutto was bad-ass. And Clinton is too.

4. I've already heard this line of reasoning in the conservative blogosphere.
But I think it's definitely a double-edged sword, as it opens the GOP to criticism on several fronts. First, there's feminist blowback -- it sounds way too similar to "A Woman Shouldn't Do a Man's Job" for most people's tastes. Second, one could hit back with the obvious, "Oh, so we're supposed to elect our president based on what al Qaeda wants? Do you support al Qaeda, or are you just terrified of them? Which is it, Rudy? Terrorist sympathizer or coward?"

In other words, the line of thinking is probably too risky for use in the U.S.

So the Repugs basically
want to appease the terrorists by not electing a woman US President. Screw that.

THere meme will be "Elect a woman and piss off the terrorists."

Since when are we supposed to let the terrorists dictate what we do or who we elect. If we follow that rationale then the terrorist have won.

6. The twisted logic is laughable....
Don't elect a woman - or a black, while we are at it - because they will be the targets of hatred everywhere....and make us similar objects of hatred, too.....

Yeah - that's a keeper, fer sure......yeah, it is!

12. We could say oh --
Huckabee loosing so much weight will cause trouble because people will turn anoexric.

And then we can say because Obama smokes so much people will start to smoke again.

Then we could say that since Romney abuses dogs people will turn to animal abusers.

And how about Richardson being of Spanish descent we could say that if he wins the Spanish will take over.

And on and on and on...you can find something in each candidate. But of course, Hillary had to be the one to bash.
