Edwards Statement Following Benazir Bhutto's Assassination
Edwards Statement Following Benazir Bhutto's Assassination
John Edwards for President
Thursday, December 27, 2007

----
Chapel Hill, North Carolina Senator John Edwards released the following statement on the assassination of Benazir Bhutto:

"Benazir Bhutto was a brave and historic leader for Pakistan. Her assassination is a sad and solemn event, and our hearts go out to her family and to the Pakistani people. But we will not let this contemptible, cowardly act delay the march of progress in Pakistan for a single second.

"I have seen firsthand in Pakistan, and in meetings with Prime Minister Bhutto and President Musharraf, the instability of the country and the complexity of the challenges they face. At this critical moment, America must convey both strength and principle. We should do everything in our power to help bring the perpetrators of this heinous act to justice and to ensure that Bhutto's movement toward democracy continues."

I doubt Sen. Biden would approve.

18. There is absolutely NO reason to attack Edwards for responding. Joe wouldn't.
Not cool. At all.

4. I think that
Edited on Thu Dec-27-07 12:49 PM by JohnLocke
In the June 4 debate he said he had met Musharraf in Islamabad a few years ago, probably during his time in the Senate. I suppose he met Bhutto at about the same time and probably afterward as well.

Most of our candidates had met both Musharraf and Bhutto: from there statements it appears that Edwards, Clinton, Dodd, Biden, and Kucinich me them, at the very least. I would be surprised if Richardson and Obama had not met at least one of them as well.

11. That's only half of it.
Did you know that he never did one case pro-bono? How is that possible for someone who wants to help the little people?

Maybe he can increase interest rates to 40 percent.

15. Rather obvious, isn't it? Biden is pretty far down on the list.
Really supported by those banks, isn't he?

Why would he seek a job in a bank after he retired? Isn't the president's retirement fund pretty lucrative? I'd think he could make it on that.

Just sayin'.

Go, Joe!

NOT.

You and the other Biden supporters please get off this thread unless you have something to say that isn't insulting or tasteless.

21. Why are they doing this?
I think you know I like you K Gardner, and I have respect for what you post. Can you tell me why, time and time again these few Biden Supporters come into a positive post and do this? I simply don't get it, but I've seen it more and more, epically today. I honestly don't understand where the hate is coming from. It astounds me. The very first thread in this post was a snide little attack, and then it just got worse after that.

Honestly, the Biden Supporters I meet in person aren't like this.

22. Good post John-
I have to say, if I was a Biden Supporter, I'd be embarrassed to read this thread. I know it is not all of them, just a few really mean spirited people.

Too bad for Joe.
