Does Bhutto's assassination effect the primary races? I don't know the answer to this, but I'm wondering if it has an impact, and if the candidates rhetoric will reflect this event. I know that there's far more at risk due to her death than the primary race, but I suspect it will begin to play a role in it.

1. Not ours. But the GOP's might swing toward the anti-"terrorism" candidate.
Her giving her life illustrates how dear some people hold democracy.

3. Agreed
I don't see how this would be a divisive issue in the Democratic primaries.

Watching MSNBC, and Joe Scarborough is saying this will help Giuliani. Okay... (Then again, they just read a statement from him. Quick one, that guy. 9/11.)

5. Pakistan could literally blow up over this incident...
the country could totally explode...and they have the nukes to use.

The country has pretty much been out of control for several months now.

How would this steer BushCo? How profitable for the war-profiteers.

2. I'm sure the Ghoul will mention 9/11 once or twice
Whether it affects the Democrats much, I think probably not. (Unless missiles start flying back and forth in the next week.)

Mayor Rudy Giuliani released the following statement on the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto:

“The assassination of Benazir Bhutto is a tragic event for Pakistan and for democracy in Pakistan. Her murderers must be brought to justice and Pakistan must continue the path back to democracy and the rule of law. Her death is a reminder that terrorism anywhere — whether in New York, London, Tel-Aviv or Rawalpindi — is an enemy of freedom. We must redouble our efforts to win the Terrorists’ War on Us.”

4. Joe Scarbrough: "This helps Rudi Guiliani". That slimeball phucker. sorry
Talking about how it will have a POSITIVE IMPACT on Ghouliani's campaign. On Democratic side, it helps Hillary, according to Morning Ho.

Go figure.

11. Looks like MSNBC made Joe go away for the moment
Thank goodness.

BTW. Mika is doing an outstanding job.
Worldclass anchoring.
It was silly when they cut away to Matt Lauer and the "big"network.
Mika knows how to report.

13. Mika is good. Her father is up next on MSNBC. She at least has the class
not to be the one who interviews him.

12. I see the possibility of it.
On the repuke side, it will
help ramp back up their support
in the 'WOT'.
The Dem side, I can only see it
being a boost to Biden, if he is
listened to.

14. I think it could help Hillary and Obama a little
Edited on Thu Dec-27-07 10:18 AM by Onlooker
A sister, a woman on the national stage, has been killed. Also, Hillary is hated with a passion; and the tragedy underscores the courage that women have at a time when some Americans probably have reservations about Hillary for that reason alone.

It could help Obama if he uses it to demonstrate the advantages of his knowledge of foreign countries and Muslim culture.

I don't think it helps the Republicans because it shows we still have the same status quo after 7 years of Republican rule. They will simply parrot Bush.
