Ok, here's my dillema btwn Hillary and Obama on who to want...
help me out if you have any insight for me, without trashing hil.

-One thing I don't like about Hillary is that she is soooo defensive. And i know it's just who she is as a person, i don't fault her for it, i don't mind it, but i think it might make diplomacy much harder for her.

So on that angle i like Obama.

-also like that he is fresh, who knows what he'll come up with, probably something others haven't tried before, and that she would not, because she's going to go with what she knows. So these are the 2 things that keep me coming back to him.

That AND i'm not sure i can QUITE get my head around mandated health care, and even if i could, which i can, BUT i worry that it will hurt her electablity. (other than that, i believe she is perfectly electable).

But just as all around POTUS, i like her better, she's so hyper motivated to change things, (i'm mean, she's nuts that way, she doesn't stop) that's what i *do* like about her, she smart and she undo as much of Bush's crap as she can, and she knows a lot about education, and i know she'll try to get as many things done as she can. etc, etc, etc, etc. it is my PERSONAL opinion that she is more prepared than he, so that i'm stuck on, but i don't have big fears about his readiness.

My issue is there is that I do find her kinda shady, so i don't want her doing toooooo many underhanded things, and i believe she would, esp. when it comes to making things happen that will work for HER, and not nec. the people. (for example, free trade, i know she and barack have almost identical ratings/voting record on it but i can see her trying to pull a fast one to appease someone so she could get something else passed that would make her the good guy, does that make sense?

whereas obama comes across as MUCH less likely to do things that will upset me.

I also just have a natural affinity for her, I watch videos of things she talks about and i am glued. I've loved her since her cookies comment in 91 or whatever. And even watching her today on tv, i just like her. Whereas Obama leaves me so seriously cold, but of course i could deal with that no problem. But i'd prefer see her face in the paper every day.

Without being snarky or hating on one, anyone have any insight on any of this?

SO...I will be happy with either of them. (i'd be happy with any of the current dems, but right now these are who i toss over the most).

i love her, but every day i find myself wondering about the 2. thanks

2. I would take the better of the two...
...Joe Biden. You don't have to choose who is "highest in the polls" (which aren't the most accurate). You should check all candidates out. And if you asked me, I would point you to Senator Joe Biden.

5. Seems like your heart is with one and your mind is with the other
Go with your heart.

Or, if you're not positive, wait. Eventually one of them will just "talk" to you, and then you'll know. I don't think you're the only one who isn't sure. I'll bet more than half the voters are trying to figure this all out, too, no matter how sure we all try to sound on this forum.

8. Frankly I can't stand her grating voice and
her major "experience" in Washington was setting back the cause of single payer health care by at least 13 years and counting.

Obama is fresh and new and marvellously naive. Does he really think that the companies profitting from Medicare Advantage payments are going to give that up? Or that Aetna, Unted HealthCare etc are going to want to cut into their profits to deliver more medical care?

Get real!

Vote for someone who has fought the corporations for 20 years in courtrooms on behalf of middle class people. Go Johnny Go!!!

9. Two humble suggestions:
1) Try not to be influenced by either candidate's supporters, one way or the other. Keep in mind that it's primary season, and 90% or more of the stuff that is said about Obama and Hillary (and the others, for that matter) is generally to be disbelieved, especially stuff on DU.

It's very difficult, I'll readily admit. Nearly impossible sometimes.

2) Remember that campaigning and governing are two different things. Politicians campaign to win political elections, and when they are campaigning, they say whatever plays best in the city that they happen to be in at the moment. Their records are a much better indicator of how they will govern than their campaign speeches, debate appearances, damage control, etc. Records tend to filter out the campaign rhetoric.

Good luck with your decision. Personally, I'm undecided, as well, and I haven't even narrowed it down to two, yet. ;)
