They would never nominate Condi and depend on their racist base to give her the primary. Had Cheney resigned due to "health reasons", they could have turned Condi into the female Jerry Ford, sneaking her in as veep. She would probably get easy confirmation in the Senate, because they have already confirmed worse. Chimpy would then resign if Chimpeachment was ever "back on the table", and voila... instant incumbent Condi.

But with less than a year to the election, and indeed just weeks to the "official" start of the primary, by the time all of the above would take place, Condi's "incumbency" would be a matter of weeks, maybe a couple of months if she was lucky.

And even then, the racists probably wouldn't "re elect" her.
