American control of Iraq's oil resources is also prohibited.

http://www.washingtonwatch.com/bills/show/110_HR_1585.html#toc0

Section 1222: Amends the Warner Act to make permanent the prohibition on the establishment of permanent military installations in Iraq or U.S. control over oil resources of Iraq.

Sometimes the Democrats do something worth cheering about. This is getting too little notice.

1. I'm trying to find the "catch".. because I'm sure there is one..
Was just reading something yesterday about the establishment of permanent bases, but can't find it now. Giving a Kick and Rec so I can find it tomorrow and see if others have weighed in. Thanks for posting ! I hope it's good news. (yanno how you just get tired of being disappointed?)

3. Wow!
Don't know anything about this other than the OP, but, in the context of American War Efforts, this is of import comparable to reinstating the draft.

There has got to be a hook here? Or maybe our ME adventures have more to do with disaster capitalism and feeding the MIC than taking the oil that is rightfully ours anyway? <---facetious

So all the death and destruction and manufactured hatred was really for nothing for even the greedy and powerful? You could not be more wasteful expending human souls if you had unlimited power and set out to waste all this deliberately!

A clusterfuck beyond human comprehension, I must say!
