How do we wake up congress?
Every now and then, thousands upon thousands of people converge on Washington DC to protest over one issue or another. They march along the Mall, or gather at the White House or parade along Constitution Avenue. Sometimes those demonstrations worked and sometimes they did not and the Bushies just went merrily along their way.
But now........a little something that could spur a more effective demonstration. Allow me to enumerate:

1. We have a President and Vice President who operate as though they were the heads of a Mafia operation. They do what they want, they violate the Constitution, they steal, cheat and bring war to a world that wants no part of it. They lie through their teeth and display constant disdain for the people they have sworn to protect and defend.

2. We have a brand new Attorney General who cannot recognize torture even if it were poured over him from a bucket of water and who now refuses to investigate the destruction of important tapes and we sure has hell know who is leading him around by his nose on this issue.

3. But most upsetting is this.....We have a senate Majority leader and a House Speaker who don't have an ounce of guts to fight back and who play footsie with the Bushies.

How long do we have to sit by and watch them not do what we send them to the hill to do?
Nancy Pelosi says impeachment is off the table but I have yet to hear her explain why. Are we just supposed to accept her words as being gospel and do we have to see pictures of senator Reid looking like a rough tough bulldog but acting like a pussycat?

Here is my suggestion...take it as you will.....what about an all-Democratic demonstration in Washington, at the foot of the Capitol Building protesting Congress. Protesting Republicans Congress members who cant see to recognize a crook even if he held a gun to his back and Democrats who seem to have forgotten that THEY WORK FOR US, not vice versa. We can send them back home with the ballot box, with an impeachment trial, or a recall. And if enough of us show up in Washington, maybe the message will get thru their thick skulls that (quoting an earlier post) re-election may also be off the table. Those men and women love to be elected but if they get the idea that we have decided the game is over, they might get off their butts and do something. If we had people showing up from all fifty states, expression our displeasure out loud, right in their faces......who knows.....stranger things have happened.

1. Vote for the challengers in the primaries
After that, pick your poison.

3. Exactly.
Stop voting for the "electable" candidate and vote for new blood.

I don't know that I can think of ONE legislator that deserves to stay.

2. Giving 'em a working majority instead of a nominal one...
...would be a good start.
