Is Nevada getting closer? Mason Dixon Polling
Two new polls were released yesterday dealing with the Nevada race. One was the American Research Group Poll. It had Clinton at 45%, Obama at 18%, and Edwards at 14%. But the new Mason Dixon Poll has things a hell of a lot closer with 34% to Clinton, Obama with 26%, and Edwards with 9%. Which one is right? Who knows because this is the first polling for Nevada since mid November. Is Obama closing in Nevada as well? Looks like he may be doing that.

1. obama is the only one airing television ads in Nevada so he should be closing
Look at what his use of his big budget (thanks corporations!) did in Iowa.

2. Obama's trendlines look great - he's peaking at the right time.
:toast:

45 minutes to go until the SC rally starts. Maybe after this, it'll be time for a dose of Oprah in Las Vegas.

3. Beware Mason Dixon
They're known for crooked polling. Our local GOP controlled rag uses them before elections when Dems are in the lead. In 2000 they ran a poll showing Gore behind by double digits when he was actually even or ahead in internal polls. It had the desired effect of getting Gore to pull out of Ohio and focus on Florida.

7. For the GOP
They usually contract to newspapers and other media who want to throw out phony numbers to destroy a Dem candidate's momentum or artificially boost the approval for GOP'ers who are behind.

10. Well, this poll showing that Obama is gaining on Clinton
doesnt show crookedness for the GOP at all.

11. They skew polls that help Republicans
that's their history. I don't know how or why they're involved here, but past history shows its likely to help the GOP.

Just sayin.

5. Obama's roll has begun and won't peak until after SO. Carolina, Nevada numbers
will change when they notice Hillary's numbers dropping while Obama continues' to surge.

9. I wonder who they are polling?
We've gotten virtually NO polling phone calls this election season - usually they are a plague on our house. I asked a few friends and they said they hadn't gotten any calls; I asked my students (college) and only a few said they had gotten calls.

Statistically, I know that means nothing, but it does seem odd.
