Can we please stop Hyphenating Obama and Clinton with the word "haters"
We are allowed to support whoever we want.

We are allowed to openly criticize other candidates in a tight election.

It does NOT rise to the level of "Hatred" to simply think and say that someone is wrong for the country's future,

The word Hatred is inflamatory and grossly inaccurate for 99% of DUers. It's use in disengenuous and very inmature. Please stop this shameful ugliness.

We are all going to have to come together after the primaries and support the nominee.

1. Four quotes from DUers illustrating what a "Hillary-hater" is...
Edited on Thu Dec-06-07 07:20 AM by Perry Logan
Hillary is an insult to my dead mother.
Hillary is a scheming, duplicitous sociopath
Hillary is Pro War and Pro Iran Invasion AND against The Democratic Party!
I'll vomit if Hillary gets the nomination.

Note: Every DUer knows the anti-Hillarites constantly set new standards for sleaze at DU. If you have more vile quotes from them, please send them to me.

3. I've seen real hate here
I'd ask for a call to end that, but it's pointless. And so is asking for people to stop using "hillbots" or other inflamatory names. I've seen all kinds of lies and crap about supporters of candidates, as well as lies about candidates. Most of it's centered around Clinton and Obama supporters. I don't think there's any hope for it ending until after NH.

4. I am fearing this may keep up until Denver
unless one candidate can put the other way on Super Tuesday...there are not enough delegates left to secure the nomination outright in the remaining tilts

5. Then we'll just have to live with it
because there's simply no call to sanity about this that will be heeded. People are so entrenched in their positions that it's hopeless to try and get them to desist from the worst attacks on candidates and supporters. I think this probably will be settled by February 6, but if it's not than we'll have to deal with it until the bitter end of the nominating process.

6. Sure, HATEBOTS will do fine.
How about an end to Hillbots, Shillary, Hitlary, Billary, Hilllaryland, Hillaryworld - and all the rest of this crap. Want to go for Oblathers, Slobamas, Edtards, Kookinich, Dodderers instead.. It really is offensive

7. Yep. As long as people here keep referring to Clinton supporters
as Hillbots and to Clinton as Shillary, etc., there is reason to call people "haters". Too bad if the people using the former, don't like being tagged as the latter.

8. There's no hope of civility taking hold in this primary
People don't want it. They want it for their own candidate and their own supporters, but not for the other guy's. It's an individual decision not to do it, and the name callers individually have decided to behave like boors. It can be mesmerizing some days, in a watching a snake kind of way, to see nasty post after nasty post after nasty post from a person. I keep wondering when will they exhaust themselves. It's all same name-callers calling out "so-an-so haters" when there is a legitimate criticism of their candidate. I've put very many on Ignore and continue adding to the list, because I'm plain bored with it.
