Seeing increase in bumperstickers for Ron Paul and Obama in NC and northern SC
Edited on Wed Dec-05-07 05:44 PM by blm
I've been used to the Ron Paul signs that started popping up alot from North Charlotte to South Greenville, SC and across to Columbia - now it seems the last couple weeks there are even more - and people are displaying them personally, as in cars and homes, while you see lots of expensive Romney signs on the roadsides. But Ron Paul 08 is the number one sign for GOPs here.

For Dems around here it seems they've been waiting - you'd still see Kerry-Edwards stickers on cars. The last couple weeks is showing an increase in Obama signs in small businesses and plenty of bumperstickers.

I see Richardson, Kucinich and Edwards and am still waiting to see Biden and Hillary - though I remember seeing a Hillary sticker on my street earlier this year, I haven't seen it lately. I haven't decided whether I'll be supporting Biden or Obama yet, myself, and still considering Dodd.

What are the bumperstickers and signs pointing to in your slice of America?

PS: Not Paul and Obama TOGETHER.

2. Whew! For a second I thought you were seeing
Ron Paul/Barack Obama signs. Sounds like the Republicans are getting ever more desperate and their candidates are ignoring them.

Pug lovers and nuts. Sorry if this offends Progressives in KF. I heard this talked about a couple of weeks ago and wonder in Obama would actually go for it.Would not surprise me.

7. I'm also seeing an increase for Obama stickers in Georgia.
I've seen one Edwards, two for Hillary, a few for Ron Paul, and one for Huckabee. That's it.

8. Here in Columbia, SC Ron Paul stuff is everywhere...
I wouldn't be at all surprised if he won this state, or at least made a lot of noise next month.

9. Ron Paul is the top one. I have seen one Hillary one, one Rudy one.

But yeah -- enthusiasm for Ron Paul is real and at the grassroots level. I think it's a way Republicans opposed to the Iraq War, but for which they will always despise the Democratic party, can express themselves.

Oh, and I saw a vanity plate that said "No Hlry". Amazing the Clinton hate.

11. Ron Paul bumper-stickers and yard signs outnumber all other candidates in both parties here in Texas
I've seen a dozen Edwards stickers, probably 8 or 9 Richardson stickers, about 7 or 8 for Obama, 3 "anyone but Hillary" stickers and only one Hillary sticker, a couple of Romney stickers and about the same for Giuliani, one for some guy named Fred - none for anyone else (unless I count my own Kucinich sticker) - and probably 2 dozen Paul bumper stickers. Even weirder, I have not seen a single yard sign for anyone other than Paul (I know it's way early), but I've seen about a dozen Paul yard signs.

It's creepy.

Thank God the Republicans would never let Paul win or the general election would be unnecessarily unpredictable.

The video clip above shows how many turned out for the Republican Presidential Straw Poll last night. This woman cancelled despite protest from Ron Paul supporters.

14. Most of the Paul signs I see are handmade - the Romney ones are repeated in
highway spots obviously by the party machine GOPs.

16. Triangle Area....lots of homemade Ron Paul Signs...and I'm not seeing anything else
except fading "Bush '04." I haven't seen an Obama, Biden, Hillary or any other except when I go to Whole Foods or Earth Fare there are always a few cars with Kucinich stickers all over them. Some from Election '04.

 You're on the SC Border, Right? There is probably alot of action over there with Charlotte and the SC Evangelicals that people are really into things.
