In praise of Democrats in Congress who held on
No one likes to be in the minority, devoid of power, which is why we see so many Republicans deserting ship. They don't like to be in the minority, not chairing committees or setting the agenda.

Thus we should appreciate all the Democrats who stayed all those years after the Republicans took power in 1994 and even more so during the six years when they had absolute control of both Congress and the White House.

Many here love to bash our representatives for not doing this and that - even though it is clear they do not have enough votes to override a Presidential veto.

But we should appreciate their tenacity for staying put, knowing that at some point we will get control back.
