16. I second that. They underestimate Dennis and would love

to get their base out against a women or a black man -- that's the disgusting way they think. Edwards they fear to the nth degree. They don't need to fear Dennis because his own party is already trying to tank him. Edwards is fighting like a champ and he's their worst nightmare.

Edit for unlovely clarity.

23. Edwards would get an epic ass-whopping. His record as candidate now is so vastly different
than his record as Senator and as POTUS candidate in 04, he'd be toast.

3. Probably Edwards. Maybe Biden
Edwards is southern and would cause Guiliani, Romney, and even McCain problems.

4. It depends.
Dennis Kucinich because he's got a strong grip on the issues and can't be sidetracked.

John Edwards for sheer electability if he's the candidate when Clinton and Obama aren't the top choice.

They only do that because he scares the shit out of them.

He has personal wealth, but he's done poorly in fundraising, and now he's committed to taking matching funds. Not good.

15. Edwards
Because he is a Southerner that could ruin there southern strategy.

Kucinich is feared by both the GOP and DLC because he could mess up there capital hill game and expose it for what it is. And he would have the guts to do it if he got too close to winning. They would probably have to kill him.

And Al Gore because he is the real elected president.
The rest of the field they could work with.

After all, they love using the TERROR-TERROR-TERROR card. That's all they have left.

21. Obama...
He's the most *unconventional* candidate and would be difficult to typecast into their sad little "bumperstickerisms." Also, he has potentially the greatest cross-over appeal and ability to energize new, first-time voters. Break the mold!

Followed by Edwards. He's the only other candidate that even mentions the word "Neocon".

28. Biden
He'd make any of them look like the idiots they are. As one other poster said, he'd deprive them of their only jackpot: national security. On top of that, they wouldn't even be able to go with the "aw shucks, I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed but I'm like the average American" crap because Biden is infinitely more charming on a very basic level than any of them. That may be a moot point but it counts for a lot when people don't like thinking things through properly. Hell, I'd love to talk foreign policy with Biden over some beers :)

Edwards they've already gotten a hold of.

Biden is going to have a hard sell with foreign relations experience given his war vote. He's going to look bad nationally being on that committe and going, "I didn't know".

Obama, Hillary and Biden together will get reamed with that "I can work with the other side" garbage. That never works and is seen as weakness by a lot of voters. Most of all I think voters want to know what you're going to stand up for them on. The leading candidates are going to have a tough sell there.
