Kucinich stood out like a breath of fresh air when his time came. He says things that the front runners, rightly or wrongly, can't say. But peace - our focus should be on the Repukes!

12. The audience booed Obama and Edwards..
The panel of candidates nicely asked Edwards to quit slinging mud at democrats..He doesn't get it. All he wants to do is tear down the front runner.. Edwards is a charlatan wrapped in a nice package. Here they would label him a carpetbagger! He's done!

68. Yes..
All the talk about the Holocaust.. The Potato Famine is hardly recognized as the tragedy it was-- inflicted on a people as a method for a horrendous ethnic cleansing by the British Empire.

I had the pleasure of meeting Frank Mc Court one night in a pub. He was a hoot. Had us laughing until 4 am. He surprised me by sending me a signed copy of his book 'Angela's Ashes,' when I returned home.

We've been building a Potato Famine Memorial for several years now as a monument to all who suffered under British oppression. Upon my last visit to Ireland, they would snicker and giggle to the side, having British workers for laborers doing their commercial and residential construction.

Old Sean sitting in his favorite chair looking on, reading his paper enjoying the sunshine and the fresh air of a beautiful blue sky day smiling away saying: "This is the way the Lord intended the World to be."

:toast: cheers!

OH MY GOD, STOP THE PRESSES.

I thought Obama was bland tonight. He didn't hold onto the spotlight, and simply got overshadowed.

A few of the second tier candidates took the spotlight, and shined like Dodd, Richardson, and Biden. Senator Clinton didn't move up or down, she simply repaired the damage from last time. And Edwards was very mixed.

Obama though....no. Most disappointing performance of the top tier candidates.

16. Obama did poorly on the DL for illegals..
He should have had an ironclad answer ready to fire. I blame his consultants for that one. Nevertheless, He doesn't do well and never has done well thinking on his feet. I'd say he needs more seasoning for a better grasp of what each issue entails. As I've always maintained, he's not ready for this, one of the most difficult presidency's to preside over.

Clinton: A - She did well.

Biden: A - I really like Biden and his direct, speaking to you style.

Dodd: B+ - He answered the questions well, I thought.

Obama: B - He stumbled, but didn't look bad.

Kucinich: B- - He had some funny lines, but Kucinich shouldn't rail against people who change their mind (I mean, he did do a complete 180 on the abortion thing).

Edwards: C - I didn't think he performed well at all.

Richardson: C - Did well on the immigration thing, but really failed on the national security question.

I don't put too much stock in what supporters think of other candidates. Just like I wouldn't say Hillary performed badly if Obama supporters decided to boo her. It's like sports, you have your team and chances are you're not going to like your rival.

Which tells me, the point is moot. Unless there is evidence they weren't her supporters, you can't use it to attack Obama. It could just be overzealous Clinton fans getting their undies in a bunch over a harsh tongued Obama.

Who booed Obama? That's the big question. If he was booed by Hillary supporters, then I don't think it's a big deal. If it were his own supporters, then I think it would be damning. But to suggest he lost the debate because he was booed only works if we know who booed him.

41. Everyone had their own group of supporters there..
But it seemed the booing was coming from every direction not just from a certain area. The audience agrees with what Dodd, Richardson and Kooch all mentioned at the outset of the debate. I don't know anyone, except the die hard Edwards supporters who are afraid to admit this is not what this primary is about and enjoy seeing this mud fight continue. They certainly do not discourage Edwards from acting like a high school taunter and bully because it make them look bad. Believe it or not, I'm embarrassed for them.

The candidates seem to draw the people who are most like themselves...That is what I have deducted from this dynamic.

52. I agree, the Edwards booing dwarfed anything heard against Obama..
I think you would also think and agree, this is a tough gig and Obama is really in over his head. He's had a crash course of the knowledge necessary for a presidential run. He just isn't prepared for all the variables that come with every issue. He has one line and that is the one he's comfortable with repeating on the stump. He's unprepared to debate theoreticals in the abstract in order to float alternative solutions to workable conclusions or discard them because they are unworkable. It's called experience and that can only be gathered over time.

66. Of course you did - although CNN's Bill Schneider thought Edwards and Obama won the debate.
He said they had the best moments because they both drew sharp distinctions with others.
He thought Biden and Obama knew most about the issues and said Biden's extensive experience
showed while Obama was clear, concise on health care and stood out as a calm, clear communicator
who knew his issues and explained his views cogently.

He'll probably be saying more tomorrow during his CNN segments.

61. A quck check in with my grades
Kucinich A (he looked a little deflated early on, but later channeled his frustration very well. Glad he said the I word again!)

Biden A (gets points for being the only other candidate to bring up impeachment, even if it was contingent on if Bush rushes to war with Iran. Very pointed on audience questions.)

Richardson A- (only one line fell flat (when he said he just wants peace after saying Edwards wants a class war and Obama wants a generational war.) He was very convincing on immigration.)

Obama A- (I actually felt some of his orator skills come through in the debate for the first time. An impassioned performance.)

Clinton B (effectively gave back some of the attacks launched on her, like when she said Edwards flipped flopped on health care, but questions on Iran and social security were not addressed well. She wants a lot of diplomacy when she declared the IRG a terrorist group?)

Dodd B (can't remember much except for him asking for calm in the debate, but it was a typically solid performance given the time he had)

Edwards C- (really gained no new points on Hillary, and came across as sulky and petty. Was very surprised - he seemed unlikable tonight, and he's usually charming.)

75. He drones on endlessly giving me his resume and saying very little..
It's actually painful to listen to. I like the guy but I can't stand his droning...same reason I didn't like Warner for President back when he was talking about running.

I actually prefer him over Hillary as an actual President but I think he's a worse candidate because of his delivery style.
