Frist making moves for 2008 run
http://reviewappeal.midsouthnews.com/news.ez?viewStory=19211

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Two-by-two, lawmakers left the church where the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. once preached and walked to a black granite civil rights memorial bearing the names of those killed in the 1960s struggle for equality.

Led by Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn., and one-time King aide U.S. Rep. John Lewis, they clasped hands, closed their eyes and sang "We Shall Overcome."

Frist called the visit a sacred pilgrimage. It also was one in a series of "Kodak moments" the Tennessee transplant surgeon has strung together as he positions himself for what colleagues say will be a run for the White House in 2008.

"This is the kind of preliminary public relations that you couldn't buy for any money," said David Bositis, a political analyst with the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, a black think tank in Washington.

Frist, who organized the three-day tour of civil rights sites in the South last weekend, bristles at that suggestion.

"Every move I make, people are going to say there's some political motivation," he complained recently.

1. What the hell does Frist have to overcome?
What a sacrilege.

2. Good luck
A lot of Repubs don't like him any more since he took over as Majority Leader.

6. I don't think Jebby has a chance
It's that dynasty thing. Even Republicans will be uneasy about it. He won't get the nomination. And if he does, he'll surely lose.

What will the BFEE do? I sense Frist will be discredited in the next 4 years. Like everything the BFEE does, it is behind the scenes and purely evil.

Has there ever been such a thing as a facist monarchy or we the lucky who gets to experiment with it first?

9. They can let him take the fall for the Dem computer hacking
and look like they are on the side of righteousness, all the while eliminating any competition.

13. So far it looks like nobody is going to take the fall for the hacking.
The story seems to have disappeared from the radar. We have more important issues to cover like Martha Stewart. Congress is to busy ranting about Janet's boob to spend anytime on insignificant little items like extending the 9-11 commission or talking about the hacking of private documents.

5. Frist is the anti-Edwards. He started moving to the top of Republican's
lists when Edwards started to look like he has a future.

7. I think Jeb Bush
is slated for 2008. No one else will be allowed to run. The Bush Dynasty has spoken.

16. One Question.
If W gets his ass handed to him (by either Kerry or Edwards) this year, do you really think that the Republicans will continue to listen to the BFEE? I don't think so. In time, it would be too close to now for people to forget that easily and Jeb would get creamed. I think that Jeb would just finish his current term as Flordia Governor and get thrown out on his ass in 2006.

12. Will Sen. Dr. Frist lay his 'integrity' side-by-side with Sen. Edwards
and, then make a chart on each other ... side-by-side

Let the people decide ... or will Diebold make the decision for us, Mr. Frist?

17. Why not '04?
Perhaps Cheney WILL be bounced (for health reasons, of course) and Frist will be his replacement? To counter a Kerry/Edwards ticket?

My 1st guess was a Shrub/Powell ticket, but I can see Frist just as easily...
