Hillary's Ran A Flawless Campaign. Is She Starting to Stumble?
It seems like the press of her in the past few days has been very negative. Is the media turning on her like they did Howard Dean, and revealing bad news story after bad news story? I personally don't support her, but admire and like her. But it seems like since that bad debate performance the other night, the media is all over her. I even heard them commenting on whether the debate performance would damage her, and how badly. Hell, even James Carville (the slimy bastard) said she had a bad performance.

Whats the deal? Is it 2004 all over again?

What goes up, most come down?

1. She Had A Bad Debate Performance Which She Spun Into A Win
She's and her team are playing chess while her opponents are playing checkers. ergo:

18. Spun into a win? You've GOT to be kidding...
I mean there is stretching the truth and then there is outright lying. The media account of this debate is that Hillary loss and loss badly. In fact her "spin" has been her goon squad blaming and threating Tim Russert. If I was Hillary I'd fire her war room. If this is how she spins her first defeat, then she is in for a rough couple of months.

5. It's a legit question. Her campaign has ran rather smoothly until the other night.
And it's like the media is turning on her all of the sudden.

3. Nope.
Unlike Dean or Kerry, Hillary will continue to do what she does: run a tight ship. She may be aware of what's being said -- and act quickly to either refute it or correct it --, but she's not going to worry too much and take her eye off the ball.

Give me a break, and stop complaining.

14. Covering for her poor debate performance by saying they "ganged up" on her isn't going to help.
They didn't gang up on her at all. She's the fucking frontrunner. If you don't expect the other candidates to point out the differences between themselves and the frontrunner on a national stage before the America people, you're insane!!

17. Pointing out meaningless national polls numbers won't help your case.
Not one vote has been cast. If I believed national polls, our nominee for 2004 would have been Howard Dean.

21. So I guess Hillary's the nominee then, since she's leading in the polls?
Wow, I hope the Hillary campaign is as comfortable as you. Seems like Obama is in a dead heat with her and Edwards in Iowa. And Edwards just now is running his first major TV ad there, and he's still polling strong. I guess that means more to me than national polls that are absolutely meaningless. You heard me correctly: meaningless!

26. Stronger? She's gotten nothing but bad press. And what did they said that was unfair?
Edited on Thu Nov-01-07 06:57 PM by Kerry2008
Absolutely nothing. If you can't take the heat, don't play with fire. They didn't get nasty, they merely pointed out how they differ from Hillary in an appropiate manner. She's the frontrunner, if you don't expect this, you're crazy. If anything, the attacks on Hillary in this campaign have been mild compared to the attacks on previous frontrunners in previous elections.

Unless "the boys club" can do it too :D

I admire and respect her too....but this is for President of the U.S., not the PTA.

I've heard this sort of whining before :(

Hillary Clinton is the most adroit Democratic politician of the last seventy five year; right up there with FDR, Kennedy, and her husband... She lacks their charisma and natural gifts which make her exploits all the more amazing...

I'd trust my life in the fact she will bring us the prize...

but I WILL save TIME, MONEY and TROUBLE...and not support her DURING the GE camPAIN.

She really disappointed me when she pulled her gender card and whined like a little girl being picked on at the playground. Phffft.

Good night and Good luck :D

13. No, not really. I don't "wish" anything. I just don't understand the shift of the sudden.
It reminds me a lot of 2004. When Dean started stumbling here and there, and the media ran with it once the frontrunner story lost it's appeal. And then Kerry became the guy. I'm just asking DUers to ask themselves if history is repeating itself.

Saying I "wish" the downfall of the Clinton campaign is rather stupid. To be frank with you. I want any candidate who can win, and I may support Edwards...but that doesn't mean I want to beat down the Clinton camp. I asked a real question, and wanted the boards opinion.

I have the Edwards one on my car, for obvious reasons. But if Hillary wins, her bumper sticker will have a home on my bumper :)

she showed some cracks and vulnerability, proving this race is far from over. The other candidates also proved that there are qualified alternatives to the Senator from New York.
