. . .the Obama/McClurkin treatment. This is a serious question and will folks be consistent?

Any Democrat who goes on his show will not get a vote from me in primaries. They also won't get money. One reason I would have a very hard time considering Dodd is his many appearances on the Imus show.

Imus already apologized. I am not going to punish him or any democrat on his show.

6. If any Dem enlists imus to emcee their fundraisers I'd be upset...
and they'd lose my support for pandering to racists/bigots. If the Dems use his show to get their messages out - fine, as long as they don't throw human/civil rights under the bus to pander to imus' listeners.

7. So legitimizing someone by doing his show is acceptable. . .
. . .because it helps get the message out? How is that any different than using McClurkin to host a rally?

11. McClurkin was a means for Obama to reach an audience, just like Imus is a means to reaching . . .
. . .an audience. For there to be a distinction between the two is kind of silly.

12. Appearing on imus' show isn't legitimizing imus.
Any more than Dems that appear on fox news legitimize fox. Would you be okay with Edwards if he enlisted David Duke to get racist's votes and money? Would you be correct to think there's some quid pro quo going on there? Yes you would.

13. Imus was fired because of his racist/sexist comments. . .
. . .McClurkin made homophobic comments, how is this not different?

15. Define fundraisers and you'll have your answer.
Then substitute "david duke" for "mcclurken". Still see no problem? If not, that's your problem, not mine.

10. Don Imus should have Donnie McClurkin as his first guest
After all, Obama made McClurkin's homophobia respectable. :sarcasm:

16. No. and if Dem's were smart they would go back on his show.
What he said was in poor taste, but Imus is not a racist. He did apologize. Republicans will be going on his show for exposure, Dem's should go on also for the same reason.

17. Obama called for the firing of Don Imus.
And has refused to appear on his show. But he has yet to disassociate himself from McClurkin.
