4. Why bother? Have you been to Florida lately?
Ain't exactly Dem country. Even if Gore comes out on top in this poll, no one will believe it anyway. Florida is an intellectual wasteland. And before you flame me, I consider myself a "Floridian." I grew up on a barrier island, spent my childhood and "formative years" there. But I'd never go back. It's not the same place. Every idiot retiree from every idiot trailer park in the nation moved there and helped turn Florida into the joke it is now.

18. Don't forget that Gore won Florida. If it weren't for the butterfly ballot
at Palm Beach there would have been no re-count and Gore would have been ushered into the Presidency the way he should have.

That fraudulent butterfly ballot is the most obvious proof of the stolen 2000 that we have.

16. According to a Tennessean I know, the majority hate him...
He was born rich and was a spoiled child. After seeing GWB, I wonder if they would still say that about Gore, knowing that GWB still is a spoiled child.

39. Gore's family was not "rich". They lived at an apartment hotel in DC owned by a relative
They had a large farm in Carthage, and he worked summers on that farm as a teenager. They were certainly not "poor", but they were not "rich". He was brought up to understand the importance of work, the value of public service, and to have personal integrity. He was less spoiled than most adolescents.

On the other hand, Bill Frist was brought up "rich" and so was George W. Bush.

10. Experience indicates the latter to be the case
Two weeks ago an outspoken rightwinger committed suicide at a city council meeting
after council refused to grant his request to rezone his home commercial.

The local freaks immediately went to work in force to lay blame on council,
and the Mayor, casting the whole thing an issue of "private property rights", and
noting that they were lucky he didn't take them with him.

24. Good grief. ANOTHER one of these idiotic polls?
This is the third one I've seen asking if Gore deserved the Nobel. What a load of shit. By even asking such a STUPID question they are implying that somehow his winning it legitimately is in doubt.

I HATE the M$M.

Done, FWIW.

32. All of you responding with insults and accusations of idiocy
did you even consider the fact that the poll doesn't show reasons why the people voted No or Yes. Perhaps this isn't the attack on global warming or attack on Gore that you assume it to be. Perhaps some of these people feel that if the Nobel is to go to someone for their work on global warming it should go to someone who did something a bit less simplistic than telling people to drive hybrids and making a highly disputed film. Gore isn't exactly making huge strides here. A concern for the environment is great, as is telling other people to be more aware, but should that earn someone a Nobel Prize? I find it interesting that just because you think Gore deserved the prize anyone who disagrees is automatically a dumbf*ck (a term I saw used in one of the posts.)

have to do with peace, then you are in the wrong place.

But, you already know that, don't you?

36. But you missed my point.
I didn't say that global warming and its effects had nothing to do with peace. I posited that it is possible that Gore isn't the best representative for global warming when it come to the Nobel. Do you just read whatever you want into a post that disagrees with you? It would appear that you glanced at my post, made assumption about what I was saying, then responded to that.

37. OK....
I can understand a difference of opinion as to whether or not a Nobel should be awarded for work on the global warming issue, since it is so controversial.

That being said, I think Al Gore was the best choice, because his is probably the first name one thinks of when the subject is brought up. I believe that right now he is in the best position to bring even more attention to it.

I do believe that global warming is one of the most pressing problems of our time, and I know many disagree with that. My feeling is that whether it is fact or myth, only good things can come from taking better care of the earth.

38. I agree
that taking care of the earth can only bring good, no matter what the real deal is with global warming. And you may be right about Gore, he is a very prominent figure when it comes to the issue of global warming.
