5. I wish I could be there.
I can't get over the mountains tomorrow, though, having committed to others already this weekend.

I hope I get a chance to catch him at some point; I really enjoyed the venues I met him at in '03/'04.

It's unlikely that he'll travel to the red side of the cascades, though.

10. Being on the other coast we don't usually speak of going over
the mountains in my area :) I'm sure your neck of the woods is gorgeous, maybe someday we'll get to visit the region.

11. Well, the Cascades are pretty impressive.
Definitely worth at least one visit. The only tough part is choosing whether to spend your time in the Cascades or the incredible Oregon coast. It's not a quick trip getting over them, but the drive is incredible.

Here are a couple of shots:

From my home, on the dry eastern side:

One of the many local lakes:

And the drive between this side and the greener, lusher, western side of the range:

15. While Oregon is experiencing growth pains,
it is still the land of peaks and rivers, hot springs, lakes and trees. Add the beautiful coast, and it's pretty close to heaven.

Not that I'm biased in anyway, of course. ;)

I hope you get to visit.

Here are a couple of shots from the coast to whet your appetite further:
