No one is accusing Obama of being unpatriotic, he is the one doing the
accusing. ""I said, you know what, I probably haven't worn a flag pin in a very long time. After a while I noticed people wearing a lapel pin and not acting very patriotic."

Get the facts straight- he is saying that there are unpatriotic people wearing the pin.

1. Which is true. Duh.
He's saying that just because someone wears a flag pin doesn't mean they're acting like a patriot.

Again, duh.

25. Republican oppo research clearing house.
The classic double smear--gutter-level attacks against Obama (blaming him for Hsu's suicide attempt) while making it look like it's horrible, obnoxious Hillary supporters.

Have you ever wondered why they don't criticize Republicans, and why they hace such an unflattering picture of her on the website?

10. Give it up
Your first thread on this got locked. We get it--you don't like Obama. Huzzah for you. He didn't CALL anyone unpatriotic. According to your link, he stated some didn't act very patriotic, which is true.

20. It was locked because people were going ballistic, not because of the
post. Statements like yours, judging whether people are patriotic or not is what did it.

There seems to be a lot of people here who have designated themselves as the judge and jury of what is or is not patriotic.

Plus this-
"But after a while, you start noticing people wearing a lapel pin,
but not acting very patriotic."- Guess Who http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/10/04/obamas-lapels/#comment-284268

- is he going to determine who is patriotic or not?

9. Uh, I could care less about Obama but he's right...
There are a lot of people who wear those pins who act extremely unpatriotic.

Pin or not, if a person acts patriotic then I'm assuming Obama is not referring to them. I don't think anywhere he says "all people who wear flag pins are unpatriotic".

Although I'm guessing your point wasn't to think about this rationally and logically as much as it was to just make an anti-Obama post so....carry on since as I said I don't care about him one way or another (until and if he's the nominee then I support him).

Edited on Thu Oct-04-07 08:56 PM by tammywammy
What he said was perfectly fine. Actions do speak louder than words, or in this case a flag pin.

:eyes:

edited to add: And there was at least one poster calling Obama unpatriotic for not wearing the pin too.
