I Want a WIKI !!!!
Frankly, I don't want to have to read every post that praises your candidate. I also don't want to waste my beautiful mind wading through the vitrol of posts that ...*ahem* has "Candidate X" detractors. I only have so many years left, you know.

Since I'm truly interested in learning the positions of each candidate and how they compare, I would like to know if we can have a chart? With links to votes and/or quotes to back up stated positions.

Our local rag even does this for it's readers. It won't make up my mind, but it will give me a more easily accessible place to start.

Help? Please???

I don't know if anyone here has pull with the decision makers but, please, do me a favor, if you could keep this kicked so somebody will consider my humble request.

Thanks bunches

1. The best thing to do
Edit the Wikipedia page that is already there: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_Democratic_presidential_candidates

A table summarizing and comparing the candidates on several key positions would be a nice addition I think but it's not really necessary for myself. You could do it though.

2. Thanks for the suggestion.
You know, I may be the only person on the planet who is not a Wiki editor.

And since I'm not an expert on any one candidate (which is why I'm asking the people here who DO know) I don't feel qualified to add/subtract/truthify any Wiki Article.

But I will check out the link.

Thanks

3. Why do you put commercial adverts on you posts, the next thing this will turn into a mini auction.

5. I thought we could put links in our posts????
Many other people have them. They link to all kinds of things. I just happen to know and like this person's work. No kickbacks for me....well, okay, dinner once in a great while.

7. It'd be a great way to educate yourself
Wikipedia already has a ton of information (I would bet the candidates pay their staff to put their positions and views on Wikipedia) and editing Wikipedia isn't hard. They have good instructions and lots of people in the Wikipedia community who will help you get up to speed quickly. And Wikipedia needs people to copyedit and improve formatting as much as it needs experts so you don't have to be deeply knowledgeable. Just correcting spelling/grammar errors or the organization of a Wikipedia article is making a valuable contribution.

I'm not a regular Wikipedia editor myself but I very strongly support the ideas and precepts behind Wikipedia so I like to encourage people to get involved. Sure, there's a lot of crap on Wikipedia but I still think it's an invaluable resource.

8. If you haven't already, you might check this site out:
www.votesmart.org

If you're interested in seeing the candidates' speeches and appearances, many of them are available streaming on CSPAN: www.CSPAN.org

Good luck! :hi:
