3. i think the JS show replays here tomorrow morning at 10 AM.
i will look for it. THANK GOD THAT SOMEONE FINALLY SPOKE TRUTH TO POWER TO CHRIS MATTHEWS' FACE.
unfortunatley, he will have learned nothing from it. He will get on his own program tomorrow and rave, rant and rage against John Stewart, just watch and see!

i did watch the show this morning. Chris Matthews was pathetic. You know, they say that what comes around goes around, and for all that he has criticized HRC for what he calls her "cackle, He CACKLED his way through the interview, a la Hillary, no less, so as to detract from the truths being uttered by JS. It is fair to say that he got caught in his own game. Matthews looked like a Dennis-the-Menace kind of character. Still focused on giving hell to the Clintons, DETRACTING from their worth for, "LISTENING" while not once did Chris utter a word about the BUSHES. If it is true that he believes in everything that he wrote in that book, he is a sad, sad commentary on American democracy, Journalism and the path to what he thinks is his own brilliance and brilliant career. If he believes everything that he sells in his book, then he is the antithesis of integrity, honor, and compassion. He is and looked pathetic in the JS Show and appeared to be more like a little boy caught with his hands in the cookie jar needing to deny every cookie in his hands and every cookie crumb in his mouth.

That, is my 2 ¢ worth on the Chris Matthews appearance in the JS show.

9. It was wild! The book must really be bad for Jon to think it's sad.
Didn't mean to rhyme there. Most TV host's booking someone to push their new whatever don't usually give them such a thumbs down. (copyright credit to Roger Ebert) In Jon's opening monologue when he was saying that Tweety was going to be on his show, did anyone notice that he appeared to be angry already?? I noticed that right away and thought maybe it didn't have anything to do with Matthews. Was I wrong! Jon did not like the philosophy being pushed in this book and he made sure Matthews knew about it.

The thing I love is that Matthews wasn't given time to defend himself. HA! I won't be reading his book so I don't know if it can be defended. It sure was nice to see someone throw it back at Mr. Tweety. I've said at least a hundred times that I was going to stop watching Hardball. Chris Matthews is on such a "mission" against the Clintons right now that even though Hillary isn't my first choice and I'm not a real big fan of the Clintons, Matthews' excruciatingly obvious crusade against them has finally done the trick for me. Maybe I'll catch a clip or two if someone puts it up on You Tube because I would like to see if Matthews talks about this interview on his show.

Oh, I don't think it was nice of Tweety to make fun of Jon's height when he walked onstage either. I know Jon is not that sensitive about it, but it sure looked like bully behaviour right off the bat. The whole thing was uncomfortable and I was really looking forward to seeing Matthews on the show. I had this stupid feeling they would get along and it would be fun. Wrong again.

11. I don't know, now that you mention it, I bet that Dick-ish "look how much taller I am" move...
...as he walked on might have been the last straw, the final insult that helped Jon decided to go after him. That was a total "bully" move that I bet Jon REALLY hates.

I missed the first few minutes of the show, so I'll have to watch the replay at 1:00am to see what you are talking about there.

Man, my face is sore now from smiling so much, I guess I'm out of practice due to 6 years of Bush.

21. The height crap was disgraceful
Right off the bat, Matthews sort of pulled Stewart down a bit when he shook hands, and then ran his hand over Stewart's head to demonstrate the height disparity. Stewart was obviously annoyed and said, "I know. I know..."

It certainly lent itself to a confrontational interview. But overall I didn't think it was as one-sided as portrayed in the DU threads. Matthews is used to other broadcasters gushing over him, so he was shocked and overly defensive when Stewart questioned the themes of the book. Only in the final 30 or 45 seconds did it really become heated, after Matthews ridiculously asserted Stewart was afraid of the book.

Matthews seemed to set up his appearance on The Daily Show recently by praising Stewart for properly mocking Giuliani for overplaying 9/11. Matthews used that clip several times. He probably expected that would earn points on The Daily Show, and Stewart would do a standard interview, but it doesn't work that way. You might as well send Steven Colbert a birthday card and think he'll allow you to monologue on his show.

10. He totally skewered him! Totally and completely wiped the floor with him!
My God! I've never seen Jon do such a complete vivisection on someone since he had that guy on who wrote the book about 100 people who are destroying America and had folks like Barbra Streisand as the starring villains.

Loved how Jon made Tweety look like a completely shallow, opportunistic twit. Then when Tweety couldn't argue with Jon's rationale for saying the book was "sad", he did the typical RW attack -- total non sequitur ad hominem attack on Jon: "I know what it is! You're AFRAID of this book!" Jon doesn't miss a beat: "No, I'm afraid of fascism."

14. Punched square in the nose.
Is it plagiarism when the same actual words aren't used? Tweety's book is called Life Is A Campaign.

From Amazon.com (available USED for $0.68 plus S+H):

Life Is a Series of Presentations: Eight Ways to Inspire, Inform, and Influence Anyone, Anywhere, Anytime
http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/074326925X/ref=sib_dp_pop_fc/002-6057443-5147227?ie=UTF8&p=S001#reader-link

<snip>
The title might be a bit of an overstatement, but the basic idea is solid: executive coach Jeary ... convincingly points out that presidential elections, careers, fortunes and even lives can hang in the balance between a good presentation and a bad one.
<snip>

I saw his lunchbox show at a country club a few years ago. OK presenter, good salad.

My presentation is now over. Thank you.

22. Chris Matthews -IS- The DC/Euphemedia Analstocracy
Watch the video multiple times to truly appreciate the dynamic going on.

Matthews has apparently revealed himself in his book to really be the soulless, inhuman functional sociopath that we usually only associate with some idealized, pessimistic view of the craven, cynical "beltway insider."

Stewart was simply probing for some evidence of human life inside that automaton shell. To his own obvious (and pathetically hilarious) horror, he came up empty.

This is the mentality required to keep impeachment "off the table," to tolerate ongoing torture, to ignore stolen elections, and to limit accountability to a "tsk, tsk" in the WashedUp Post.

We must keep hammering the DC Dems back to consciousness. They have the same disease.
