Rasmussen: Obama has gained a bit of ground and now earns the vote from 28% Dem primary voters
Edited on Mon Sep-24-07 10:04 AM by flpoljunkie
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that New York Senator Hillary Clinton now attracts 40% support in the race for the Democratic Presidential Nomination. Barack Obama has gained a bit of ground and now earns the vote from 28% of Likely Democratic Primary Voters. That matches his highest level of support over the past four months. Former North Carolina Senator John Edwards is at 15% in while Delaware Senator Joe Biden is a distant fourth at 4%.

In the race for the Republican Presidential Nomination, former Tennessee Senator Fred Thompson is favored by 27% while former New York City Mayor Rudy Giulianiis preferred by 22% of Likely Republican Primary Voters. Arizona Senator John McCain is in third place at 13% and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney attracts support from 12%. Today’s Rasmussen Reports analysis notes that McCain and Romney are stuck between the frontrunners and the also-rans. Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee remains atop the second tier at 6%.

Trending upward...and of course PEW, CBS, Gallup all show a continuous upward trend ...Hillary with a 20+ lead!!!

Hillary is in fine shape when her opponents are rapturous over only being down 12 in one racking poll!!!!!

Obama to Air First Ad in New Hampshire

By PHILIP ELLIOTT
The Associated Press

Monday, September 24, 2007; 9:53 AM

CONCORD, N.H. -- Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama planned to air his first television ads in New Hampshire starting Tuesday, appealing to voters to believe his message of change.

Obama's new, New Hampshire ad repeats his message that went up last week in Iowa, and on 50 signs placed around New Hampshire during the weekend that asked "Do You Believe?" They were replaced Sunday with one featuring Obama's campaign logo.

In the new TV ads, the first-term senator asks viewers to support his candidacy, plays up his un-Washington experience and tries to allay concerns about his relative lack of experience.

"In 20 years of public service, I've brought Democrats and Republicans together to solve problems that touch the lives of everyday people. I've taken on the drug and insurance companies and won," Obama says into the camera, tapping into the frustrations rival John Edwards has employed in his campaign.

13. Need new specs, wyldwolf?
...or is it simply denial?

The trend may only be temporary but there is an undeniable trend. Any second grader can see the positive movement in Obama's numbers. Perhaps you'll have to wait for the visuals of a line graph.

21. Not being partisan either way this is a good thing at this stage
A close race gets more people involved and interested. It would be nice to slough off some of the dead wood with no chance pretty soon too. Obviously we don't want a race that is particularly bruising or expensive very late in the primaries, although for once cash will probably not be an issue for the eventual nominee, but it is to the party's advantage to have some suspense and give and take about the nomination at this stage rather than a runaway HRC with no hope of anyone catching her. If Obama eventually wins, the experience in dealing with a difficult campaign would in some small way prepare him for the inevitable Rep onslaught. If HRC wins but gets a good run from Obama, it should take the edge of this silly inevitability and "DLC conspiracy" crap that the tin foil hatters spout, and give her more legitimacy with all but the most fringey wackos. Both are good things.
