Iraq's my thing and I'm not giving in.
Saw W's speech last night, His eleventh on Iraq and not much new.
He seemed to be daring the congress to try and stop him.
Moderate republicans who face re-election must be pissed.
Pissed enough to openly oppose him? we'll see.

He wants one thing... The money to keep this going until he leaves office.
When the talk turns to next summer, He means after the election.
He wants to hand this bee's nest off to the next president,
so he can later claim "I did all I could"

Tricky politics here for democrats.
They want to end it,but...
They want it as an issue in the next election.
Congressional democrats seem pretty disorganized
considering this showdown has been coming since the '06 election

He is afraid of failing... again, It drives him as much as anything.
I wish I could say the same for congressional dems.
If they can't get their shit together now... they never will.
And it truly does fall to congressional republicans to end this charade.

Winston Churchill said success and failure should be greeted the same.
This is a time for statesmanship, for the good of our nation.
The whole world is watching.

1. It is truly a sad thing when one considers winning without realizing
how much has already been lost. How many more so say terrorists now would do anything to take a bite out of American interests. It's sad when you cannot see that your past course of action delimits any claims to success or fame you may want to tie to your legacy.
