4. No Way
Both have important things to say, and Sharpton is the wittiest candidate going. Take away Sharpton and you take away half the reason to watch the darn debate in my view.

6. Totally agree

They're doing a very important thing by bringing up issues that the American people probably should support, but won't in the near term. If they're ever going to be on the table, this is the place to start introducing things like a single-payer healthcare system into the American consciousness. The people need to rise up and demand it, but they get scared off. Sharpton is a hell of a lot of fun, along with saying things that a more viable candidate couldn't, or at least would't.

Exclude them and it'll won't be just them that are walking away.

9. Another $5.00 for Dennis.
Any thread that suggest DK dropping out or slighting him in any way brings another $5.00 for Dennis.

11. I will do just as Revcarol is doing, only it will be $10 for DK
Consider another $10 in his pocket. Any thread I see that suggests he should bow out...I send $10 to his campaign.

15. Yeah, right now I'm without health care. DK has the only single-payer
universal health care plan, and I need it. Just a sample of great ideas the party would like to ignore.

23. so what about their showings of 20% and 10% for Sharpton
or 15%, and 14% for Dennis? What about where Dennis outpolled both Clark and Edwards COMBINED in Maine?

17. why not
they only get the loudest applause, the biggest laughs, and the most nods of agreement. Then, the voters go out and vote for someone else.

They're like court jesters; they can say the truth, and everybody laughs, but nobody takes it seriously since they're just jesters after all. They sure are entertaining, but they just aren't king material.

18. Not in the next debate, but soon
Kerry and Edwards should have a 1-on-1 debate. Otherwise, we'll have a nominee who isn't vetted.

20. Maybe not excluded
But, they should drop out. I don't know if it would be right for the media to tell them they can't participate but they should realize that it is over and that it is only a two man race left. A Kerry-Edwards debate would be important to see who should be the nominee.

21. But what about those of us
who don't intend to vote for Kerry or Edwards? Why would you limit our choices?

Is it ok with you if I drop out of the general election since a majority of voters don't agree with me?

22. They need to stay in to keep the primary debates alive--
even if they arent't going to win, they can say those things the frontrunners cannot. They keep the issues on the table and can do the dirty work while the frontrunner looks "cleaner". This is an ingenious way to keep the race alive--the Repubs also don't have the liberty to hammer on one or two candidates that way either. They aren't taking any delegates away that are needed. They're an asset to the party.
