after reading the AP review of the dem debate on univision, i read this quote by hiLLdog: "we need to quit refereeing a civiL war and bring our troops home as soon as possibLe."

this is a totaL buLLshit statement; she's trying to woo the semi-anti-war by presenting a faLse, "bring the troops home" theme.

in addition, my main issue, is the fact that she taLks about the iraq war as if we're the good guys, and that if we faiL in this insane war, it's not our fauLt. this entire shitstorm is our fauLt, and admitting it is the Least we can do.

once we do that, we may actuaLLy make the right decisions to better not onLy ourseLves but, the rest of the worLd too; we're not the onLy country in the worLd, and we don't ruLe any other country.

i rareLy respond to this question in threads but i'm going to now: the capitaL Letter is a way to not onLy make myseLf stand out regardLess of what site i'm on, but aLso to act as a minor headache towards peopLe who wouLd steaL my jokes/short stories and pass it off as their own.

and the reason i chose "L" was because when i first started becoming a presence on the internets (and when i first had the inkLing to stand out in a speciaL way, and aLso, that some of my jokes, etc, were being posted by others without attribution) was because i was one of the few openLy LiberaLs on those boards. it was a shoutout to the (mostLy european) LiberaL members on those boards. it was tough opposing the iraq invasion in 2002.

4. I'm with you.

As much as I want them all home NOW, I've become leery of the repercussions. Especially since Biden mentioned our CIVILIANS who are on the ground -- He says as long as there's one of ours left over there, he will support their safety. He IS for beginning withdrawals immediately, but has a plan to do it SANELY. After this insanity of how we got there, we need to be careful not to knee-jerk an escape plan which might have dire consequences for all.

I know when I post this view of Biden it may be interpreted as me supporting the surge for a while longer (or whatever), but that's not the case at all.

Also, (and I don't know Biden's view on this -- my opinion only), after we've 800 lb gorrilla'd ourselves into that country, I do feel a responsibility to the innocent citizens who have been affected. I would feel even sicker if we just said "oops - sorry -- good luck".

Anyway, as I said I'm with you and I think all the others who are offering the same tune as Clinton are presenting a false hope. I'm not saying that they're doing this intentionally -- they may actually believe it can be done -- but the result is the same.

And regardless of who gets into office and whatever their exit strategy might be (assuming it's a Dem), remember when we all thought we'd see the Peace Train moving on out of Iraq after the Dem's won congress? After the election, may be just more of the same, more of the same.
