Something about him just pisses me off so much - more so than anyone else. He seems like a slightly more eloquent George Bush...A true sociopath (that dog on the top of the car story comes to mind)... I started really hating him, when I first found out about him and the way he started ripping on the people of Massachusetts soon after being elected governor (what the fuck were people thinking?).

And Guilliani...who tries to pimp 9/11 every chance he gets...

And McCain and his zombie like defense of the war in Iraq...

And Thompson...and Huckabee (LOL what a name!)...and God, they're all freakin' nuts!

Paul actually seems sorta sane in front of the others...

But everytime I think of the guys running, I'm reminded why I will vote for Hillary if I must!

1. I don't know what the people of MA were thinking
Perhaps so-called conservatives just like to get fucked hardcore in a restroom-class bangathon.

2. Isn't it funny how much one or two REALLY set you off, while the rest are just
garden-variety bad? Thompson and Huckabee do it for me. Something about those two--both lightweight fakes and schmoozing "entertainers", neither of whom has any real reason to run for prez. I can stomach Romney, only because he's so up-front fake and flip-floppy that I no longer notice it as a character flaw--he seems smarter than the others. McCain, I will always have a tiny soft spot for. I used to have a visceral hatred of Rudy, but now I just accept him as an authoritative jerk. I can't even picture ANY of them getting elected. That thought is too awful to bear.

5. Ron Paul is batshit-crazy and wrong on everything except the war.
But, on the odd chance that all the candidates except Ron Paul and Joe Biden die of food poisoning after eating Dennis Kucinich's spinach dip, I would rather vote Paul than Biden.

12. Ron Paul, I believe, is 100% sincere and 95% wrong in his views.
He's not hardwired into the GOP establishment -- word is he rubs most of them the wrong way. But he's opposed to reproductive rights, expanding (and recovering) First Amendment rights, and workers' rights. For starters.

15. Ron Paul isn't "crazy".. wrong, but not crazy
Ron Paul actually appears to have principles and sticks to them. That isn't crazy.

I believe he comes to the wrong conclusions on many many issues, but I have far more respect for him than candidates who pick their message based on the audience to which they are speaking.

"Crazy" is voting for a war, defending that decision then even after the truth comes out that it was all based on lies saying you would have voted that way ANYWAY and THEN 3 years later deciding you were wrong all the time.

7. Feeling the same way
Ron Paul looks better every day. He's much more principled on defending the Constitution and avoiding foreign entanglements than the corporatist Democrats. The issues where I disagree with him are simply not as important as those where I agree..

I know it's purely hypothetical, but Paul may well have my vote in a match-up against Clinton or even Obama. I'm pissed enough about this war and erosion of civil liberties to vote for pro-life libetarian like Paul over a wimpy DLCer.

8. My collection of items about Romney, my former governor...

The gay-bashing in particular reveals a seriously rotten character.

... the immediate impression is "what a complete phony." It's as if I didn't even have to know about his laughable litany of flip-flops to appeal the the regressive GOP base (i.e. the "rubes").

What I can't understand is why so many well-intentioned (but still regressive) Americans can't wrap their cerebellum around the fact that they're being played for fools.

And for those of you into fringe culture and religious critique: am I the only person who has observed a similarity between

Presidential candidate Willard Mitt Romney
and

Church of the Subgenius cult hero, sex god, and all-around slack Messiah J.R. "Bob" Dobbs?

Any one, including Messrs. Romney, McCain, Guilliani and Thompson, who still supports Messrs. Bush and Cheney's idea of a war on terror needs therapy.

As for Messrs. Bush and Cheney themselves, we need to prepare indictments.

Meanwhile, let's do something serious about Osama. The Republicans didn't.

17. Smarmy
is the word that comes to mind when I see Mitwit. I suspect he was just like Eddie Haskell on "Leave It to Beaver" when he was young.

I have that same viseral dislike for him. He created himself in the image of what he thought would win in MA and will do the same to get to the White House. He has a coldness in his eyes that I find really disturbing.

On the DU forums, we know Romney is a fake. I live very close to Mass, and watched him wreck the state budget, leave office after only one term, leaving the state with 2 Billion dollars in debt...yes... two Billion! He screwed the Bay-staters out of an honest administration, he was away half his last year in office, 2006!

20. Get used to Mitt the Twitt. He will be the Rethug Candidate
Sen. Clinton will be the Dem Candidate. The Dem Moderates & the Independents will tolerate her. The Moderate Rethugs will also tolerate her. She won't bring a major change change in US Policy.

Mitt Romney linked to Bush family; Jeb Bush encouraged to run for president

From our "will we never learn/will the nightmare never end" department comes this:
Jeb Bush, who hasn't publicly picked a favorite in the Republican presidential race, privately is talking up the candidacy of Mitt Romney and steering some of his closest advisers to the campaign.

The former Florida governor has said repeatedly he won't be a candidate in 2008 despite encouragement from his father, the former president, and his brother, the current one. But Jeb Bush's support, even tacit, would be critical in the state that decided the 2000 presidential election.

is one of several former Bush confidantes in the Romney camp. Others include his hand-picked, former state party chairman Al Cardenas, and Sally Bradshaw, 's former campaign manager and chief of staff...
