Under the Collins campaign's own rules, anything written in the comments of a blog is representative of those who run the blog.

So since the Maine Web Report is run by Collins' director of online communications, we can say this comment essentially came out of Susan Collins' mouth:

Arthur Frain, Portland ME

You know what this country needs? Another terrorist attack. Take out SF or some other city full of dirty libs, and then the country will rally behind the GOP for protection.

Yeah, this is a ridiculous game, but if they insist on playing it...

(And yeah, I've got a screenshot for when they try to delete it and pretend it was never posted.)

In any case, thank god we have a Democrat in the race, Tom Allen, who doesn't have supporters praying and hoping for another devastating terrorist attack. And we have a Democrat who doesn't mind if Republicans want to videotape him on the campaign trail.

1. Arthur must belong to the 'Cult of 9/11' with a whole lot of other GOP pundits and pols.
If you haven't read this, please do: http://www.commondreams.org/archive/2007/08/14/3157
<snip>

"When Stu Bykofsky, a columnist for The Philadelphia Daily News, wrote a column last week in which he openly hoped that America suffers “another 9/11,” he merely had the poor judgment to say what many a right-wing politician and pundit is thinking.

Evidence for this is everywhere: in the fact that Bykofsky was invited to appear on the GOP’s unofficial network, Fox News, to “explain” his comments; in the keen disappointment that ripples throughout the right-wing blogosphere every time the collapse of a bridge or a steam pipe explosion turns out not to have been the work of Scary Brown People Who Hate Our Freedoms; and in predictions such as that made by former Sen. Rick Santorum, that the GOP’s electoral fortunes will improve as soon as there’s another terrorist attack."

It's the only way for the Republican Chickenhawks to win!!

2. I am from Virginia,
but I donate to Tom Allen. If Warner decides not to run again for the senate here, I will also donate to any dem who decides to run for that seat.

3. Thank you so much!
We really need to get rid of Collins. She plays herself up as a moderate but she once stated she'd support anything Bush put forward. We must send her into retirement.

Thanks for your help.

4. Sen Collins has been whining because
the Maine Democratic Party sent a guy to tape her at public appearances. Of course the "liberal" media up here has been doing all they can do to help her out.
