Some here spit on that old school kind of verbiage, but it's nonsense to attach nefarious implications to it.

10. she's actually a very nice person
I have never understood the extremes of opinion here at DU.

In my world, you don't have to agree with someone on any particular issue to appreciate them as a human being. I've met her. She's a very nice, sincere, passionate woman.

12. I have met her as well and she is "nice" socially. She has been openly
critical of Democrats and sided with Republicans, piling on against us and contributing to a negative media perspective of the Democratic candidates.I have no respect for anyone that does that. She has been "schilling" for the GOP, and no matter how "nice" she appears, that is unpardonable.

Edited on Mon Aug-13-07 04:27 PM by AtomicKitten
She's also said some very nice supportive things about members of her party, my party.

Discounting that is convenient but not truthful in your analysis.

Edited on Mon Aug-13-07 05:31 PM by saracat
And as a "Democratic Spokesperson" It is also not her job to repeatedly praise Rove.Today was not the first time she has done so.She should not represent the Democrats when she says such things.

29. What the heck did she say about Gore. For pete's sake she was his campaign manager
and I often wonder what would have happened if he'd had someone else.

31. She stated that Gore "disrespected" his staff and didn't thank them.
She also said he didn't have enough "fire in the belly to win". Yeah, I too wonder what would have happened with a different campaign manager!

14. I am going to lose this argument on purpose.
Adolf was reportedly a very nice person in social settings as well, kind to childrenn and dogs, teetotaler, vegetarian. What the heck does that have to do with how he behaved in public or what opinions are appropriate about his public behavior?

Brazille sanctioning the vile Mr. Rove was a public act and she should be judged on the merits of that act and not how socially 'nice' she is.

23. I actually didn't.
I simply used Hitler as an example of why Brazille's social 'niceness' is FUCKING IRRELEVANT to her public actions. She is praising a war criminal in public. I have a problem with the politics of that. Do you?

13. You are so completely totally wrong on this.
These are the folks who have been calling us 'defeatocrats' who have painted the Democratic Party as pro-terrorist, who have been kicking us in the balls for 25 years while people like Donna continue to make nice with them. Get a clue: they are all on the same team.

21. What Brazille said about Karl was not what we expected to hear from
a democratic pundit. We expected more from her. Though I guess if she is his friend she had little choice if she for some reason wants to stay that way. I don't know why.

26. Ask Donna how well "gentleman politics" worked for the failed elections she presided over.
Edited on Mon Aug-13-07 04:57 PM by Dr Fate
Politics is not a garden party, and WINNERS of elections like Rove know this, while failures like Donna do not. (I know- I know- I am told WE FINALLY "won" in 2006- where a ham sandwich could have won againt a Republican)

I dont spit on people who think they can can win elections by being polite & gentlemanly to murderers, liars & criminals, but I do blame them for being ignorant, and for losing 3 major elections in a row.

"Gentleman politics" does not work when your opponents are liars & criminals- which is why Donna was and is a failure.

15. Donna Brazille trashed Kerry after the 2004 election
I despise her for doing that. She is a Dem talking head, she should have been praising him.

That is one thing the GOP has over us, they never eat their own publicly.

27. Hmmm- trashes Kerry, but is polite to Rove instead of attacking him. Is she a DLC member?
If not, she might want to apply for membership- seems she shares at least 2 of their membership's common attributes.

Seems like Democrats would be better served by having strategists who view Karl Rove as the anti-Christ that he is, rather than calling him a "friend."

25. Seems to me Brazille should have been replaced today as Dem pundit as
she was Rove's friend. To its credit CNN did couch her comments as that of a friend. But she should have been replaced for the day if she could not do her job properly.
