Can we give this Conyers bashing a rest, please?

As far as I can tell, COUNTERPUNCH hates Democrats.

3. I don't think calling into question...
...a Congress member's actions/behavior amounts to bashing.

4. You can pressure a good congressperson (good), or you can villify and try to destroy (not good).

Conyers has long been one of the good guys.

The author suggests Conyers is senile etc. How I am to believe that is not "bashing?"

All I see on the part of the author is footstamping and unwillingness to actually dialogue w Conyers.

Seriously, I do not believe the author had his "listening ears" on -- so I don't trust his characterization of anything Conyers said.

5. McGovern simply wants Congress to do their job...
...he knows our country is at a very critical point and that without impeaching Bush and Cheney we're probably going to be transformed into a full blown dictatorship from which there will be no turning back. Congress is the only hope left of heading this off. He's trying to get them to see this and bring about any public pressure he can to motivate them to take initiate impeachment hearings. I don't think he's engaged in "bashing" at all, but given what's at stake, I doubt he's to worried about hurting anyone's feelings either.

6. Tell it to the Republicans . . . Write your Repub congresspersons and Senators.

There is no doubt McGovern's heart is in the right place. But his head, I don't know --

It isn't Conyers who is obstructing and protecting Bush.

I watch CSPAN, I have seen it with my own eyes -- Dems introduce legislation, The Roadblock Republicans respond with coordinated Talking Points and silly coordinated "parliamentary challenges" == anything they can do to cover for their precious baby bush.

The Republicans need to be pressured to put Bush aside and do what is right.

Some, perhaps most Republicans are hopeless. But some aren't -- so write them and pressure them. I am having some luck with mine. I will keep pushing.

7. If they can just get impeachment hearings going...
...I don't think MSM could ignore those the way they ignore everything else that goes on in the HOuse and Senate. Maybe the people would see once and for all what criminals these people are.

I agree the Republicans need to be pressured too.
