I wish Elizabeth Edwards was running instead of John. Her straight on
honesty and integrity would be so refreshing. He just seems to me to be so calculating, like the rest of the candidates instead of Gravel and, maybe Kucinich.

1. feel the same way but if gore doesn't go in would vote for him
because of elizabeth...i really believe with how tight they are and how much he respects her, she would keep him straight...

11. Agree with the observation: John Edwards without Elizabeth won't be as good --

2. After the debate she was interviewed by Wolfie.
I have turned off the tv but I don't think any other spouses were interviewed. I think she might be getting a little too much face time. She needs to retreat a little because it is beginning to look like her campaign instead of John's. She has previously talked about her positions (esp. on gay marriage) that are different from John's ideas and I am not sure that is wise.

Just yesterday I was asked if I had made my Dem choice for President and I responded that I have not made a choice but if Elizabeth was the candidate instead of John I would no longer be undecided - she would definitely be my pick.

3. She's a strong person - its hard for her not to take a "front seat' when there
is so much running on this election.

13. I know but I really think it is a strategic miscalculation -
They are going to get called on their "dual candidacy who is really wearing the pants in the campaign?" setup soon if they don't stop it.

I think their advisers will have a hard time with management of Elizabeth because she is so independent and not to mention better at articulating positions.

4. exactly
My mother and I both have said the same exact thing. She seems so real and truthful and John just seems fake to me. It is a vibe thing I guess.

10. Yes, very fake. I wish it weren't so but there is just something seemingly
false about his delivery.

Maybe he needs to take a month off and go and live with one of those poverty families he's been talking to.

Forget about his image, and all and just try to live day to day.

Maybe fill in, anonymously, wearing a cap/uniform at a 711 or something. I feel there's SOMETHING there but it just needs to be uncovered.

24. You don't know how hard plaintiff's lawyers work, do you?
He's sued corporate America for their negligence and won, many times.

It takes thousands of dollars to prepare for trial. That's why a good plaintiff's lawyer will not take a dog case--one that he thinks he can't win, that has a bad fact situation.
The lawyer puts all the preparation costs up front -- and hopes to get them back from his percentage of the judgment or settlement, plus some more for his time.

If you think he's phony, or lazy, beause he's a rich plaintiff's lawyer, think again. He's fought for the poor and defenseless against big corporations for decades.

I think he's polished, but I don't think he's phony.

I used to be a court reporter and a legal secretary, and I also have a law degree. I've seen literally hundreds of trials.

16. In my opinion she has 100 times the integrity of Hillary who, to me, seems
"bought and sold" to the highest corporate bidders.

Though I think he'd do pretty well as president.

7. Both she and John are very likable.
Elizabeth seems a bit more liberal, however.

Her spirit and energy seem great to me.

15. Oh, she's been trying to lose weight?
I was hoping it wasn't because of her illness. She looks good imo too.

18. Yes, I read that in the Wall Street Journal article about her today. She's on a
very healthful diet and has eliminated all junk foods.

21. The OP is about Elizabeth and that is who I was talking about
When you stand Elizabeth next to her husband she looks better.
Back in 2004 Kerry had the same problem when he stood next to Edwards.

23. Elizabeth must conserve her strength to battle cancer and
be around for her kids and husband. It's just not the right time for her. The fact that she is such a supportive and intelligent partner makes me feel she will have a lot of input should her husband win.
