Discrepancy between headlines on Yahoo homepage. Why?

Anyone know whey these headlines are different?

Headline on Yahoo homepage:
"Plane diverted due to suspicious passenger"

Headline of article once selected:
AA flight diverted to NY in "misunderstanding"

I've seen this several times on Yahoo homepage (maybe it happens elsewhere??). It seems like the initial headline might be intended to incite unnecessary fear and remind us of 9/11 while the 2nd headline clearly points out that the issue was a misunderstanding. This happens alot when the two headlines differ. Maybe someone is hoping the initial fear raised by the initial headline is enough to keep us in line--especially with *'s sad polling #s and increasing defects from the repub party.

Kucinich's comment about the admin playing the "fear card" made me even more suspicious.

1. Headlines come from the news provider

AP in general seems to have the most inflammatory headlines, Reuters has been reasonably neutral.

onedit: several times when headlines looked deliberately bogus they were changed soon thereafter, after DU (and probably many others) hammered them and the news service with emails.
