Edited on Wed Jul-11-07 03:35 PM by Mayberry Machiavelli
How long before McCain officially bows out of the race?

(Choice 4 edited for spelling)

1. McCain is still
the best qualified Republican, as he was in 2000. That alone will get him screwed (or was that "screwn"?).

2. I don't think he can make it to the 1st primary. Do you realize
the first Primary is 5 1/2 month away? The word is he only has $2 million in cash left. Do you know how expensive TV ads are? Do you know how expensive travel is? $2 million is NOTHING!

I'm not sure WHO the real McCain is. If it is the guy who ran in 2000 on the Straight Talk Express, then his obvious mistake was to hitch his wagon to Shrub and all his policies! If it's the man you see now, the problem is just HIM!

3. He's still their best general election candidate and he'd beat Hillary soundly.
I hope he's dead but I don't think he is.

4. He will have terrible showing in the primaries and still get the nomination
Other repub candidates will run all over him in the primaries with no one having a clear lead by the CON-vention.
Then a deal will be brokered where they will hand McCain the nomination. I still think a deal was made in 2000 that he would be the 08 poster boy and that is why he plays ball with the regime all along.

5. When was the last time either party had a brokered convention?

6. A year ago
When he was riding high, I predicted he would not be their nominee.

I stand by that prediction.

I am also quite capable of being very wrong about such things!

7. My prediction
He'll come out of New Hampshire in a three-way tie for third place and claim he's got "Johnmentum."
