Here's my E-mail I just sent

Honorable Senator Reid,

I just found out that Joe Lieberman voted with the republicans AGAIN. It's time to strip him of his chairmanship. He's NOT a democrat and has shown it time and time again by obstructing what the American people (SEVENTY PERCENT OF US) want. Get rid of this guy Harry PLEASE.

7. You are right, sort of. Actually it was a special resolution which
Edited on Wed Jul-11-07 12:18 PM by Benhurst
allowed the Democrats to take control because of the Jeffords switch.

8. If I remember correctly--
--the Committee Chairmanships were promises made to Joe in order to keep him caucusing with the Dems. Take that away, he would caucus with the Pukes, and return control of the Senate to them. Not worth it. We know how he's going to vote, and we'll just have to live with it. Having the majority in the Senate is just to important right now. (Especially if impeachment happens . . .)

15. "Holy Joe" was seen as an antidote to the Clinton/Monica connection.
The Washington Talking Heads were all saying that was going to be a big problem for Al. As usual they were dead wrong. Al was, and is, a Boy Scout, in the best meaning of the term. He and his wife are obviously deeply in love with each other and dedicated to their children. The idea that any untoward actions taken by Clinton in such a private matter would have harmed Al was absurd.

17. Lieberman's Chairmanship isn't up for Reid to change
It's legally subject to a resolution of the Senate. To change the Chairmanship would require 1) 60 votes to bring up a resolution for a vote, and 2) a majority vote to pass the resolution. I don't think the R's are going to help us out...
